First, I’d like to say that the manual is really good at giving you tips to prevent thieves from stealing your bike. Next, the U part of the lock is solid and covered in a rubber that’s pretty thick. Third, the keys are phenomenal, and I doubt any thief would be able to pick this lock easily. Maybe a locksmith would be able to get in there. However, they would probably have problems seeing as you’re given four keys with this thing. Lastly, I want to address the part that’s not so great. The lock part the key goes into, it’s covered in a cheap plastic shell. That’s definitely gonna come apart over time. It’s not a big deal since my bike isn’t that great, but I can see the metal scratching a really nice paint job if this lock ever hits the ground unintentionally. The clamshell will break apart into pieces. But like I said, if you’re not worried about your paint job, then this isn’t an issue for you.

Bike theft is such a big problem in many cities and no matter what you do, it seems bike thieves evolve quickly. You can spend a fortune and still have your bike stolen. If someone really wants it and scopes it out, they'll probably get it. However, you can make it just inconvenient enough , time consuming enough to ward off all but serious professional thieves. The build quality is tremendous. It's very solid, things fit very snugly and there's not extra play in any component on it, from the arch to the base, to the key, to the seals. It's very well made and you'll notice it immediately. If you drop it, or it falls, it is quite resilient, I mean nothing is specifically made to be dropped and scraped intentionally on cement but this will easily survive most minor dings and scrapes and it could survive a high speed on without looking like it was wrecked. The keys fit in perfectly and it's very easy to mount. B/c of how snug everything is, it doesn't wobble like some locks do which is a nice tough. And if you look at the size, it's nearly perfect to wrap around a post and include your frame and at least one, but in most cases two rims. Obviously this will vary depending on the size of your bike, the post you're securing it to and the rims but the size is great and it's more of a rectangle than an arch. The outside is coated and wrapped (again, when I mentioned drop and scratch resistant, that's a big part of it) so it's pretty much impervious to the elements. I don't think it could even rust if you tried to make it do so. And finally the price. Well, there was mainly one very high end brand that had the market on these types of locks. There are quite a few imposters that are notably less, but if reviews are any indication, you get what you pay for and you don't want to be frugal when it comes to securing an expensive Bike. For the money, this is pretty much a perfect lock.
