I bought this to bag some corn in paper bags. I didn't want to spend a ton of money because i was only looking to bag a couple hundred. I was surprised at quality of this sticher. It seems like decent quality an a value at the price. It even came with extra parts including a needle which was also unexpected. I would recommend this for smaller jobs. I have sewed the heck out of stuff and this thing is awesome! I'm using some ginormous thread in it and it flat gets things done. Highly recommended and will buy again if it ever dies. FYI - I'm using mine with a variable speed foot pedal to slow it down a little so I can think about what I'm doing. I'm not really using it hand held as a bag sewing machine. I can't speak to longevity but this sucker will seal a bag in seconds. It costs a fraction of the competitor and it worked out of the box. Everything seems reasonably executed on it. Solid machine. Pretty sturdy. It worked for 10 minutes then jammed up. I had to try to rethread it. Threading was a nightmare. video and directions were not inclusive. One video on how to thread it and that was not good. It assumed you knew what you were doing. definitely NOT for a beginner. I received the GK9-370, not the GK9-890. It works fine. I'm closing sand bags, so the only issue I have is running an extension cord to my sand pile. I had to rethread the machine today and let me say, there is no good illustration or videos showing how to properly rethread this device. I found out by accidentally putting my loose end across the feeder teeth and it finally started to loop. ... show more
