If you care about your lawn you need to top dress it with a lawn topping soil a couple of times per year. The material should be evenly applied and one 2 cu ft bag will cover about 100 sf. This roller holds a 2 cu ft bag and will distribute the topping soil evenly and consistently over your lawn. Assembly is really easy with each part clearly numbered and foolproof instructions. The build quality is quite excellent with every piece fitting perfectly and no forcing holes to line up. It takes about 20 mins to assemble completely. Highly recommended to apply a top dressing to any lawn, your lawn will thank you for it. I use it for Peatmoss mostly. Sturdy and dirty. No Wet top soil, like the kind you buy in a bag, or it will clog. I've used the hell out of it and ZERO PROBLEMS. Assembly, too easy. Used it today even. Think I bought it 4 years ago. my back and legs are toast but that's from the shoveling.

Well built spreader, but NOT recommended for spreading Casoron. I have to admit that I should have researched spreaders more thoroughly before purchasing this Vevor spreader. It arrived promptly, was easy to put together and appeared to be well built. The balloon tires make for easy walking over bumpy areas and the large bin should make spreading faster. I believe it would serve well for many fertilizers, mulch, seeds and wood chips. However, it did not serve my personal need to spread the pre-emergent Casoron. After contacting the company, I was most pleased with their understanding and cooperation in allowing me to return the spreader for a full refund. Many thanks to Mohammed for his patience and professionalism.

When I opened the box, were at least 5 pieces of loose hardware (the box sounded like a maraca when I opened it). I had to figure out where it all went, and obviously could not. This should have been a VERY easy assembly. Instead, it was impossible! The design is terrible (the two handles to be assemble together with two nut and bolt assemblies are round so they slide around during tightening, making it very difficult to keep aligned), etc. The slot to fix the slide gate hardware is too small and had to be drilled out. The cable for the slide gate will not attach to the slide gate (at least I can't get it to and there are NO instructions for how to do so, the instructions just end before that part). The tub has exposed metal hardware (corrosion). The description says that it has four baffles (it has only three). The cover for it is so cheaply made that it might as well be made out of paper. To add insult to injury, this is an expensive spreader! It costs as much or more than the 130 lb tow behind version (after discounts). BUYER BEWARE!

The media could not be loaded. So my wife slipped on black ice and fractured her ankle. EMS, emergency room and a surgery later, I wish I had bought this Spreader years ago. I use regular water softener salt crystals and the Spreader does an amazing job. GPT will tell you how much salt to use based on your driveway size. Assembly was simple and I did add metal studs purchased from Amazon for a few dollars. It took me 10-15 minutes to drill the studs into place. I found the salt spreads far and wide without the grate. I also spray the gears with WD-40 Extreme before and after use to keep all parts lubricated and protected. The video’s should also help…

I’m not sure why most people give this and other rollers a bad review except for issues with the gate mechanism. On this unit, it’s not a problem. I appreciate that they’re on the sides and not in the middle. They’re also extremely secure. The only issue, if you can call it one, is taking the time to ensure the gate is in the proper position prior to attempting to close it. If you look at my included photos, I’ve added one showing the best way to load material. The second shows the coverage. For coverage, if you’re expecting a 2” layer, as some peat moss bags suggest, that’s not going to happen. This is meant for coverage up to about a 1/4” to maybe a bit more if you make multiple passes. If I were to knock on anything it would be the difficulty of removing oversized debris to include sticks. In the bags I purchased, there would be a couple handfuls per bag. I lifted this onto my trashcan and opened the door to shake it out. It’s not exactly easy to handle. I suppose you could detach the push/pull handle each time but I won’t be doing this. Overall, for planting new grass seed and patching, the 1/4” layer is doing just fine. The assembly was easy and the unit appears to be rather solid.

This is a typical Made in China product that requires assembly. IF it included any paperwork at all - like instructions or even a diagram of what goes where, I would have given four stars. Trial and error made a 15 minute build into nearly an hour due to having to back out bolts that were put in the wrong way or wrong spot. If even the cage was preconstructed, that would have made life much better. The price point was the driving force for this purchase. It worked fine spreading peat moss and I had no problems with latches (as reported by some others). Also was packaged very well.
