  • Works great for weld positioner
Style: 4Inch
I'm using this for a home built weld positioner to hold small tubular parts. Works well.

  • Nice, economical, chuck
Style: 6Inch
I see no problem with this chuck. Since several reviews indicated a malfunction because of debris inside the chuck, I immediately disassembled it upon receipt. Disassembly was simple. One review stated the jaws didn't close evenly. I think those jaws were removed and were not reassembled in the correct order. I found one small chip inside which would have never caused a problem. The chuck was well oiled, wrapped in plastic, and packaged securely. I am in the process of turning the backing plate, so I can not yet attest as to the trueness of the jaws, but, I don't foresee a problem. The OD of the chuck is larger than 6". It measured 6.424". There is one plastic piece attached. It seems to be a "dust cover" on the back side and has no mechanical function. The jaws are numbered, (1,2,3) but, the chuck itself is not numbered. I plan to just number stamp it myself. I can see this chuck giving years of service. I feel I got a good deal. ... show more

  • delivered on time,
Style: 6Inch
Great product, well packaged, arrived in good shape perfect delivery time as they promised. Have to figure out how to have it mounted because the radius for the three bolts that hold it on the plate, is slightly larger than the radius of the holes for the plate, about 3mm. I did not try to install it right away and cannot return it. Check those measurements, which they don't provide, before ordering or will end up as a very heavy paper weight. ... show more

  • Poor quality control!
Style: 5Inch
The chucks construction is ok? Run out is horrible! After finally receiving the second chuck (first was shipped to FL I live in AZ) the chuck was mounted on a backplate, body of chuck had .007 run out. I had to re turn the internal rabbit to run true. Body of chuck now running >.001 but jaws are over .017 out of true. Need to grind jaws if you want to use for turning, you get what you pay for a cheap chuck for a cheap price. It will work for what I wanted never expected quality at the price paid, it will never work for a lathe chuck without rework but it fine for a welding turntable! ... show more
