  • Great little press!
Size Name: 12T
Got this to straighten out the forks on my mower. The forks are about $180+ shipping and tax each, this press was just under $170 delivered, taxes included. Used it to straighten both forks and it paid for itself the first time I used it. I have had a few other projects where it came in very handy since then. It doesn't take up a lot of space and it does pretty much everything I need it to. Anything I need done that this can't handle, I'm better taking to a machine shop anyway. It's fairly light, but also strong. The instructions could certainly use some improvement, but it wasn't too hard to assemble with just a little common sense. I plan on relocating it from my carport to my office/workshop and adding some casters to make it even more useful ... show more

  • Excellent value
Size Name: 12T
I read reviews about poor instructions, damaged product & popping/creaking noises in use. It took about 30 minutes to unpack, inspect & assemble the press. No damage & instructions are straight forward. My first job with it was changing out wheel bearings. Press did its job perfectly, no noise other than the pop when bearing drops. It does exactly what it is supposed to. Only issue is, I should have purchased years ago! Great addition for any home/hobby shop. ... show more

  • IT WORKS FOR TOYOTA REAR WHEEL BEARING
Size Name: 12T
I don’t normally write reviews but I thought I would share my experience with the 12 ton press bought specifically to replace my rear wheel bearing in a 2001 4runner. The reason this one works and the harbor freight 12 tons doesn’t, is all based on the cross member that supports what ever you are pressing. The two cross members are connected via two long bolts therefore you can slip in the entire axle and bearing removal tool in between the cross members. Cons: quality is not the greatest. I had some issues assembling the press but was able to get it all to fit. The final product was extremely lopsided. I had to wedge a pice of metal under one of the legs to keep it from wobbling. ... show more

  • An ok press for home use but definitely not pro.
Size Name: 6T
The press arrived in two nested boxes (a box in a box) but all pieces were present. Assembly was simple. I used a rafter square to ensure the feet were perpendicular to the risers and assembly took about 10 minutes. There are two sizes of washers and nuts. Four for the legs and two for the press table. The two included plates are minimal, but functional. The entire press is coated in orange paint which is already flaking off, which is anreplaceable. The included bottle jack is unsecured but easily replacable. One of the tabs broke off the relief valve immediately upon first use. Not a deal breaker for me given the low price of the press but not great, for sure. My major concern lies in the bolts of the work table. They are very weak (head reads 7.8 which is very poor grade) and there are no sleeves to maintain spacing. This means you cannot tighten the bolts down as the table would squeeze against the risers and make the table unadjustable. After only two presses, the bolts are bending and will have to be replaced. This isn't much of a problem for me as I have access to more fasteners and sleeves but I don't know how many other home-gamers are so fortunate. They really should have used much stronger bolts and included sleeves (just tunes that slip over the bolts to maintain spacing) as 6+/- tons of shearing force is quite a lot for suboptimal bolts to endure for very long. If you're using this as a platform for herbal pressing, this might not be such an issue for you, though, as the functional pressures are much lower. ... show more

  • barely adequate for my use, exactly $97 worth of press
Size Name: 6T
bought this to press out some control arm bushings, should have probably got the 12 ton instead. bushings were within its operating capabilities and turned out fine but it struggled with lower ball joints. pressing out, there was a bit of a violent pop that ejected the jack completely from the frame, catching me off guard and only narrowly avoiding injury. pressing ball joints in however, was a more fiddly matter. it was unable to provide enough pressure to force the new ball joints straight in on center, the overload bypass works. i was able to overcome this by working the edges in a circle pressing a little at a time until about 90% in then returning to center to finish it out, at near max output of the press it was able to make the last bit in a violent pop to seat the ball joints. the orange paint is not a permanent coating to protect the press, it is merely there to indicate if you have used it at all as it flakes off on contact with anything. the 2 pieces of black plate it comes with are very convenient that they are included however will bend permanently well before the 6t max is ever reached, i suggest getting thicker plates if you plan to use this regularly. actually, i suggest getting a 12t unit if you plan to use this at anything close to it's limit. idk what the parts are all called so i'm going to go with deck height adjustment pins. those are fine, the holes in the frame that accept the pins though, not particularly skookum, all wallowed out already. hell, the deck has a good sag to it too now. so while it seems to be engineered to survive the forces of the 6t jack it's built around, i can honestly say it only just barely does that. this is at best hobby quality, for home light duty use, dont count on it lasting a week in a commercial workshop and is priced accordingly. do not attempt to put any larger jack in this frame, it may just kill you and if you want it to last forever it might be better suited to maybe a 3t jack. so while my results were sub optimal, i know i was asking too much of this tool and my experience with it is my fault. except the paint, the paint could be much better. so weighing all things here, i'm giving this 5 stars overall not because its a great press, it isnt, but because it is exactly the $97 worth of press i paid for and it did what i asked of it when i should have bought $167 worth of press. ... show more
