I rated this pump 5 stars because it works like it is supposed to. However, for the novice hydraulic engineer it sounds like you can control the “RELEASE” precisely. You can not. When you push the release button it is full dump. I bought the pump for a hydraulic lift. Full dump means it slams down when you push release. You can not control the drop. On other hydraulic tools this may not be an issue for you.

Works well, used it to replace an OTC pump in an auto repair shop. We had quarter inch fittings that fit perfectly in this unit. I was concerned about the fluid because it looked different than the piston fluid. We didn't have a problem because we're not lifting very much. Transmissions are the heaviest.

It is very dangerous TO USE A CONNECTING HOSE/"pipe" that has a pressure rating that is LESS than the pump it s connected to! The description says: " The 2 m high-pressure oil pipe offers double protection ..." - BUT The hose is rated at 8,700 PSI and the pump is rated at 10,000 PSI. High-pressure/10.000 PSI hydraulic hose failures can and do cause bodily harm. PLEASE- FOR SAFETY REASONS -- Do not purchase this kit WITH THIS HOSE! I immediately returned it for a refund without unpacking the pump.
