I bought this without reading the reviews. After purchasing it, I read the reviews, got scared and ordered a different one from Home depot. The point I'm trying to make is, this was great. Easy to install and seems to be very sturdy. Also, to the review saying it broke while they were hitting it in. It's not meant to be hit in, so maybe that's why it broke. I will say I did try to cancel my order about 1 min. after ordering and it wouldn't let me cancel my order.

We bought this screw in anchor to use with a new mailbox, and we are really unhappy with the quality of the product. The anchor screws in fine, but the bracket on top is really flimsy and provides very little support for the post. With just a light tap it will move from side to side. We are going to end up taking everything apart so we can use a more stable anchor for the post.

It arrived today, and it looks ok, but at the bottom tip, the metal seems messed up. I’m sure it will still work for a mailbox anchor, but it will let ground water in, and hopefully not rust too fast. It comes with 6 lag bolts and a piece of rebar. The rebar looks like stainless steel which seems like overkill for something you only use once. I’ll update if it bends or breaks while screwing it into the ground.

We used these to get around a root heavy yard instead of digging, finding a root, filling and digging again. We were trying not to damage the nearby tree so I placed these closer together on the 4 x 4’s than I would with a post hole digger. They seem to work. Worst case if they start to lean it’s a pretty easy adjustment.

I wish I had bought the screw version, and I will in the future. Maybe even the "American" brand while it doesn't say it is actually Made in USA it does say it is for a small business. But even the cheaper screw versions I am sure would have been better, they look like they are welded in a full circle, not just 4 small spots.
