I recently purchased an entire cowhide (6 by 8 feet, tail still attached) from a local butcher to do some leather work. I'll have to tan the hide myself, but I found the wet hide to be extremely heavy (weighs more than me) and hard to work with. None of my knifes or razors could cut it, and I needed to cut it into smaller pieces to work with. The hide varied in thickness from 1/2 to 1 inch thick depending on the tissue remaining. This fabric cutter went through this wet leather like it was butter. Thoroughly impressed. I'm not sure how it will perform long-term, but I'm extremely pleased so far.

Not a box cutter even though it's 18 volt and does well for 3inches in after that every thing interferes with progress. Good for cloth and on table. Not balan ed way to Heavy in front. So I am sorry to say stick to the 8volt and 4 volt box cutter until the box brands come out with a 20volt version if they do. P.S. kind of funky sketchy to turn on. When you see the red light push the button next to the light several times to turn it on and go through the different speeds. They forced me to add stars. Do not try to redesign it is awful front heavy tear your wrist off unless you are in training to hold a full beer mug with a straight wrist. Made for use on table and material that can gap greater than 1/2 inch on the trailing edged or falls to the floor.

Works perfect, we use it everyday! Love not having a cord and the batteries seem to hold a charge for a good amount of time. Since there are 2 batteries included we always have a charged one on hand as well. Great deal!
