This is an honest review. I have nothing to gain from this. So here you go if your deciding to buy this plucker; We decided to upgrade from our current plucker to this (had a $400 plucker from Lowes that could only do one bird at a time). I must say, we're glad we did. I had my initial doubts when ordering, but after just processing 26 meat birds (Freedom Rangers) all doubts were washed away. First, this plucker is HUGE!!!! We did 2 birds at once (6-8lbs/each) and it had no problem. You could easily do more birds than that! I'd say at least 4 large birds or one turkey! We process in open air outside, so we didn't put the wheels on. The wheels would work well if you had a solid floor. If not, you u will NEED 2 people to move this. The handles provided are solid though. You'll be impressed by it's size! Our last plucker had a water attachment, this one does not. Kind of a bummer, but it wasn't really a problem - just get yourself an attachment nozzle to your hose and have it near by. You have to spray water while operating. This let's the feathers drain properly out the shoot. The plucker never jammed or got bogged down, but we did stop to preemptively clear out any feathers or spots that looked like they were getting clogged. The water/feather discharge shoot on this is amazing. We put a large plastic trash bag on the ground where the feathers discharged. Clean up was easy! The instructions are garbage. The errors are incredible (punctuation, grammar, sentences). It made NO sense! Albeit the machine is easy to use and self explanatory. It will make you laugh though. The shipping was quick, but there were a few dings in the metal. We weren't concerned because it's a chicken Plucker and it did not effect the operation. Lastly, one of the fingers was placed in upside down in the drum, so I had to remove and put upright. We messed up the water temperature on the first few birds. We were at around 150-155, which was to high for this plucker. It destroyed the skin. Once we got it right, around 135-140, we had no more tears and the last 20 birds were perfect! Having said all that, I highly recommend this plucker. We were debating on getting the Rite XL from Coops N More, but it was more expensive than we could afford, so we "settled" on this. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. This exceeded our expectation! ... show more

I'm hoping these dents and misfits are not going to effect the function of the machine. It was not bent in shipping but appears that it is a manufacturer error in putting the pieces together. They need better quality controll.

First Review - (2 stars) I looked at building one of these, and with my time I decided to purchase it. When it arrived it was missing nuts and bolts for the wheels and no instructions as shown in the pictures. Without the wheels on, the motor, bolt, and gears hit the floor. Which makes it inoperable. I am unable to give a complete review at this time since I have not received the nuts and bolts. From what I can see, it does not come with a built in water sprayer like other brands. The size is a good size and should be capable and do a good job. I will update my review once I get the parts to do so. Until then I am not able to test the product nor can I actually use it, which is why I purchased it. Update #1 - (3 stars) I was able to go purchase the missing nuts and bolts. Attached the wheels and I am now able to set it up and test it. Seller did refund me the price of the nuts and bolts. Update #2 - (3 stars) we have used this a couple of times now. However the rubber is scratching and breaking. We will be ordering new rubber fingers to replace the ones that have broke. ... show more

***updated*** Used to process 28 birds in June. Machine cleaned and stored. In October when I went to process my second batch, the on/off switch quit working. So not only did we have to manually spray water but we had to remove the switch and direct wire it so we had to plug and unplug every time we needed to start and stop. As others have stated, despite the description stating there is a place to hook up a water hose, there is not. You must manually spray water while plucking. Had I noticed such before processing day I would have sent it back. It also will not pluck more than 2 birds at once without completely destroying them. However, with proper scalding and no more than 2 birds, it did work as it should. I had no damage from shipping. Unit was well packaged. Spun at a decent RPM to ge the job done without being too fast. All in all, it does the job but the description needs to be updated to accurately reflect the product. ... show more

Product works great. It clearly had something quite heavy stacked on top of it so after I pulled the plucking drum back up where it was supposed to be, it seems to work well. Time will tell however how well it will hold up especially with the dents and creases to the sheet metal. Definitely check this product right away after you receive as it seems the shipping tends to be disastrous across-the-board. ... show more

The machine worked well ever since we bought it in May 2022. It worked nicely with 3-4 chickens at a time. The push button did get stuck recently. It’s good if this part is available for purchase.

The media could not be loaded. Product arrived in wooden crate. Well packaged. The metal as others have stated is flimsy. Found some small dents on the feather discharge shoot. The size of it looks like it will handle a decent size Turkey. Plugged it in and it turned on with no issues. Will be trying it out shortly with about 10 quails to see how it does. ... show more
