    • Just what I needed to dig postholes in clay
First of all, if you are digging into clay, either do it after a heavy rain or pre-soak the ground prior to using these in the summer when the clay is like concrete. Also, while drilling a deep hole in clay soil, you may want to add some additional water to the hole once you get down about 6 inches, if you want to go deeper, to prevent it from binding up. Perhaps using a more powerful, corded drill, would work the best, but my Dewalt battery operated drill seemed to do all right with a little caressing. Slow and steady should get 'er done! :-P ... show more
