a great size and full kit!
This is one of the better jars I have used due to its size! I have a couple 24 ounce jars and this one is so much easier to use because it’s wider so I can stir easier and see what I’m doing. Of course, wider also means the starter is lower down, and when you’re just beginning starter it’s pretty low, so sometimes the silicone grip gets in the way of the band, but for the most part it works fantastic! The band is basically a standard size that would fit most jars, so it stretches a bit over the one, but I find that it also grips a little better because of it, so there’s some give and take there! The silicone grip along the bottom is super nice to have in place so my jar doesn’t move around too much, whether on the scale or sitting on the counter. It is less likely to be bumped off by someone not paying attention! It’s also easily removable for cleaning! The thermometer reads room temperature well, the colors are easy to see and it responds quickly. I wasn’t sure if it showed temperature of the room or of the starter ingredients in the jar, but as I’ve gone I’ve learned it’s the room itself so you know you have your starter in a warm enough environment. The spatulas are great, and the big bonus to this kit is that you get a flatter spatula and the stick spatula! The stick one comes in most kits, but you really need the flat spatula to scrape the sides of the jar down, you just can’t get that with the stick. The stick is great for stirring though! And the little basting brush is a great size for brushing on butter! I like that this also comes with measuring utensils as well, that is always helpful for baking!! The only part of this that I really didn’t like is the cloth cover. It is smaller than the ones that came with my 24 ounce jars so it barely fits over the lip. It does work, but I just traded it out with one of the bigger ones that fits the wider jar a little better. Overall though, you really can’t go wrong with this kit as a beginner at making sourdough!

It Help CONTROL the PRE-FERMENT, to use it at the right peak moment.
This sourdough starter kit is very helpful to control the pre-ferment. I recently started to make sourdough bread after many years of making regular (yeast) bread. The process is different and a little more challenging. T\his set helps a lot, in order to use the pre-ferment at the right moment for máximum growth. THe measuring system it provides is just what I needed. Having every step in control helps make delicious and good looking bread at home

Great Kit!
This kit is excellent. It came with all the tools I need, and a few extras I won't use most likely. The whole thing is really well put together. The measuring spoons are super cute colors, the spatulas, one regular shaped, one extra long, are smaller and therefore deemed cute. The fabric top though, that stretches over the top, to me is gross because of the lint it had on it and the grody grandma bonnet feeling to it. Maybe the company should try to use a better linen that isn't so lumpy and multicolored because it ends up feeling kind of dirty. It feels like a sack of potatoes but with lint actually. The kit also came with an elastic band with the day and time, and then a stick with temperature on it. There is a gradiated line on the glass that you line up the time stamp band to so you can keep track of when you started your dough. I really like the idea, but the temp gauge gets covered by the band, so maybe put yours on sideways like I did? I like using the volume markers to see how much my starter has risen, and I like that they included a screw on top in case you have to store your starter in the fridge while it's dormant with slowed fermentation. It also came with a basting brush for all the butter in the world I'm going to put on my bread tops. This kit is really useful and I'll be using it a lot.

Everything you need in one sweet set!
I recently received the Sourdough Starter Kit, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. This kit includes a large jar with clear markings in ounces and milliliters, making it easy to measure out ingredients accurately. The rubber band that comes with the kit fits snugly around the jar and can be adjusted as needed. It's incredibly convenient because it has the days and times listed on it, allowing me to keep track of when I last fed my starter and monitor its growth after each feeding. I also love that the kit includes two different types of silicone spatulas. These spatulas are perfect for stirring and scraping the sides of the jar, ensuring that I can easily mix my starter without any mess.
