I brought this for my new homes basment due to mildew smell all over we the home smell coming from basement.it comes with a drainage tube so you can let it flow water into a bucket.thre drainage tube wasn't working at all and I had to empty it by hand(comes with a water reservoir).I took the filter off the back(wasn't dirty)put it back and it started draining into a bucket.its small(about 2'-2.5'tall).I moved in 2 weeks after I brought the hime,ordered this from Amazon after I got a closing date.it arrived sooner then I was told.i ran it the day after closing and had to come every day to empty it.n alarm on the unit will sound off and it shuts down until you dump the water.i changed to a smaller hight bucket because it won't drain via tube if bucket is same size or higher then the unit.it took a week to clear the mildew smell upstairs and a 3 more weeks to clear the smell in the basement.it did what it supposed to and I am satisfied with this purchase.its super quite,you only hear the fan if your sitting near it and it's on. High.its push button.im not sure if this model comes with an app to monitor the system or not.it also can dry clothes.

Bought this to replace a much larger unit that I gave to my mom. I have the 35 pint model. It definitely works, but takes a while to lower the humidity in about 700 sqft basement area. I do like the functionality of this unit. The auto drain function is great for set and forget use. I set it to the desired humidity and it automatically turns on when needed. It has a blue light to show when it is working. The best part is that the water never goes into the basket when using the auto drain feature. I did buy a refurbished model and the buttons on top require a hard push to function. I didn't return it because I expected it to not be perfect. It does function. Otherwise I would have taken a star off and returned for a new one. For the price I feel I got a good deal.

I have a 900 sq ft apartment and this was just not big enough for the task despite brand labeling saying it should be. I understand the dehumidifier market is full of wild claims and the real world provides too many variables anyway for them to be meaningful, so I had to kind of take it with a grain of salt and guess since I have never used a dehumidifier before. The only meaningful measures are the standardized ones to temperature but they aren't always presented clearly and you have no way to know what it means if it's your first dehumidifier. VEVORs marketing is misleading, but by the low standard set by competitors they are relatively clear, and I don't really begrudge them for this. The dehumidifier itself was impressively quiet, the hygrometer was exactly on point with my own hygrometer, and it did work hard to pull humidity down in my apartment. It took it down 5-7 points but just could not get it down under 60%, staying up and down in the 60s at about 65-72°F. At that point, I reasoned it was probably working fine but I just needed a bigger one for my conditions. Another brand offered one at a good deal so I got that (approx 75 PPD) and it has been what I needed. If your temperature and size of space are similar to mine then try a bigger one. Fwiw I would trust a bigger VEVOR it felt like a good product. This one I would use for a single room or a 450sq ft apartment perhaps.

Pros. Very quiet. Gets humidity levels under control fast. Cons. I found the power cable too short, had to add a 2 foot extension to reach outlet. Hose provided for continuous draining is too short and flimsy, only 4 ft. Fortunately you can connect a garden hose to drain connector on unit. 4 stars is for flimsy drain hose and power cable lenght.

I bought this based on the fact that it has a drain hose. This sits in my basement and I don’t have time to keep going down there to empty it. Well, the drain hose doesn’t work. It constantly turns off because it fills up; the tank is super small! Very disappointed in this purchase. Considering sending it back.
