  • Considering the price, this is a great brew system.
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
Keep in mind, this is a sub-$300 electric brew system. Are there higher quality systems out there? Sure. Absolutely. Grainfather, Clawhammer, Kegland Brewzilla (which this system most closely resembles). They're also $600 and up for almost the exact same thing. For $250-ish, you get a machine that's capable of timer brewing, 100w to 1800w power depending on how much your electrical can take, and all the add on stuff; hop spider, immersion chiller coil, etc. I've brewed 5 batches of beer through mine since I got it, and it's still chugging along nicely. I also like that there's separate switches for the heating system and the recirculation pump; you can keep that pump off until you need it. Good deal. For $215-250 (whatever it's currently on sale for) you get way more than your money's worth. ... show more

  • No assembly instructions. No customer service.
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
The item arrived with no directions on how to assemble. I called Amazon and they gave me a customer support number no one would answer. I used the Vevor support website. I waited for a chat operator who could not help not schedule a call for assistance. When. I said I would return the item the agent said not to worry they would resolve my issue then disconnected the chat. I would avoid Vevor items in the future. ... show more

  • Incredible.
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
I'm a new brewer who doesn't have access to a stove in my shop and I don't want to have flammable gases where I'm working on my stuff. This was the result of my thinking and efforts to combat that issue and wow am I glad. This thing makes brew days effortless and I don't know how I could brew without it. It gets up to and holds mash temperatures within about 30 minutes even on a 120V outlet and gets up to boiling in a little bit longer than that. The self-timing features work great and you can set up timers to remind when to add hops and so forth. The recirculating pump works well and the grain basket design is actually better than some of the ones I've seen for more expensive comparable options. The only complaint I had early on is that the wort chiller it comes with did not include the attachments to connect to a hose, but this was easily remedied by about $15 worth of a garden hose attachment, cheap plastic hose, and some hose clamps. I cannot recommend this product enough, honestly. ... show more

  • First Impression
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
I’d just like to say that so far I like this product. I just received it and was concerned when opening the box, the wall had a good size dent in it but I was able to push it back out, but impact spot still noticeable. The construction seems light (my brew kettle is heavy than this thing!) and I am worried that the welds won’t be adequate enough to hold the weight of wet grains and how easily I fixed my dent I had at first but time will tell. Assembling wasn’t all that bad as I read, and mine came with a manual that some complained they didn’t get but it is a little vague. I did watch several videos before purchasing so that helped. I am doing a test run with water to figure it all out and it appears to hit temps well and maintains them. Hit a rolling boil in 15 minutes from 152.5F roughly at 1800 watts. I bought this product to reduce brew time and go lean ditching the bulking cooler mashtun, hot liquor tank, kettle, and propane burner and it is the most affordable option, I just hope the construction of it holds up and don’t end up with buyers remorse and wish I bought a digiboil, grainfather, etc. I gave it a four star since as I ran my test I am quite pleased, but again the construction of it and me not having a brew day with it I can’t give it a five star review… yet. ... show more

  • Used it for the first time today!!
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
Really great experience using this device. I tried a simple SMASH recipe. The water temp came up quickly and held really well between +- 2 degrees. The pump worked really well during the mash cycle. I did have to remember to adjust it as it does pump really quickly but just a small adjustment of the ball valve on the re-circulation pipe and everything ran smooth. I did not realize how heavy the grain pipe would be after mash out and pulling it up to drain. Getting up to the boil and heat break went well the thermometer internal to the device never got over 204.6 but the boil was great and no boil over. Really happy with this purchase and so far really happy with this device. ... show more

  • 5 gallon system with limitations/flaws
Size: 9.2Gal With Pump
Holes in false bottom (and top) are too small. Liquid throughput (mash out) is on average 1 L per 3 minutes and slows significantly as liquid drains. Also, mash efficiency is less than 70%. 14 pounds of grain was all I felt comfortable with based on the feel of thickness during stirring. By the numbers that mash basket might be able to fit 18.7 pounds of grain (as advertised), but I doubt any water could fit after that. And who knows how much grain would be lost through the two holes for the handle. The grain held on to so much liquid I only had 6 gallons pre-boil. So this thing is really just a 5 gallon system. The description/picture says 8 gallon brew volume but the gran basket sits below the 8 gallon mark. This slow output means the pump runs dry. The valve on the output is finicky and reacts inconsistently when open other than full. O-ring on weldless spigot is sub-par and leaks. The riser pipe for liquid return needs to be 2 cm taller to allow for easier sparging. It is like it would be high enough but then they put the black foam handle on it. Only operate this thing on the ground or maybe on something very sturdy at 18 inches, no higher. Mine did come intact and undamaged. Considering returning it. Too many faults and I won’t have to give it another try before my return window closes. ... show more
