  • Beware of lack of Company Software Support (misleading Ad
Size: 1500VA/900W
The UPS appears the be built well. I bought the 1500 version. It has plenty of outlets and capacity for my needs. Where it is sorely lacking is software. The ad above and the manual that came with the unit both refer to the Multilink software which would use the USB connection and shut down the computer when it is running on UPS battery power with sufficient time remaining before the batteries are exhausted. I couldn't find the software anywhere, so I eventually broke down and called Liebert (Now Vertiv). What I found out was that the company has discontinued software support for all USB UPS'. So they will not provide software for this model. They will tell you to use the built in windows functionality. That will work, but is nowhere near as robust as the included software usually is. If you are OK with not having any supporting software, this seems like a decent UPS, but if you were looking for the monitoring that you get from Liebert native monitoring application stay away. And shame on Liebert for advertising software that they no longer provide. ... show more

  • Same issue as APC
Size: 1500VA/900W
Go to Wikipedia and look up lead-acid batteries. They are trying to use the 2.27 volts per cell of a glass mat when they should be using the 2.1 volts per cell. Every time it turns on, it starts from what it calls 90% when the battery is already full and starts charging it again. The APC I tried to replace did the exact same thing. I'm sorry, but you can not change chemistry and physics with software. Get real! Sent it back as I was already out the money on the APC and this did no better. ... show more

  • Don't lose power again
Size: 700VA/420W
I added this UPS to my equipment that is feeding my wifi network, and it works beautifully. Our local power company seems to randomly kill the power for a few seconds on weekday mornings. This initiates a reboot on all of my equipment and kills my connections when I am working from home. I added this UPS to take care of that annoyance and it works exactly as I would expect. There is actually enough power in the battery to keep my network operational for 1 1/2 hours (according to the digital screen) which is plenty for the annoying outtages. I have a cable modem, my wifi router (ORBI), my vonage VOIP device, and two network devices plugged into the UPS side of the power bank. There are two minor annoyances with this device (not bad enough to lower my review) The first is that the battery backed up outlets are all on one side of the device and they are very close together. To get your devices plugged in you will probably need some kind of extension - I plugged another power strip into it - and all is good. The second is that when you lose power (as happened at 2am a few nights ago) there is a very annoying alarm - letting you know that the power is out. You need to go to the unit to silence the alarm - I would prefer to not have an alarm at all - or only sound the alarm if you have 10 min left in the battery. I have recommended this unit to friends and family alike as it is an awesome addition to my connected household. ... show more

  • Failed within first 10 months
Size: 700VA/420W
This is a late review as I was so angry when the unit failed I didn't realize I never posted one, but I have to say I do not recommend. Power surges/outages are far too frequent here in Tampa so I purchased this unit to backup my office equipment and an APC 600VA to backup my family room equipment at the same time. Nine months later during a surge it completely failed and I lost a desktop, laptop and a extra monitor, while the APC performed beautifully. I was only using 6 or 7 of the 10 outlets at the time. The unit itself eventually powered back up but my equipment was completely fried. I bought this brand because it's what my company uses and I figured if it worked in the office it would be good in my home but I was apparently wrong. I will be buying APC from now on. ... show more

  • Defective Out of the Box
Size: 700VA/420W
We purchased thus UPS Backup device for home-office use for a desktop. Brand-new, the unit would shut off within 10 seconds of powering it on. Tech Support to troubleshoot the issue was not knowledgeable and eventually confirmed that the device was defective. I had not known the manufacturer, and in my view, this brand should be avoided. Stick with known brands. And certainly, stay away from this particular model. Not worth it at any price! ... show more

  • So far so good
Size: 1500VA/900W
Received PSA5-1500VA today and ran a quick test. The battery was pretty much charged up. Plugged it in regardless with no load for a few hours. The display showed what looked like a full charge, but it ran a bit warm. Once it cooled down I figured the battery had a full charge. 1- Connected a 41 Watt load (lamp) 2- Panel said it would run 70 minutes 3- Disconnected Power, pressed the mute button. 4- It ran for 70 minutes and then after a few warning beeps, it cut out. The spec says a 450W load (half load) would run for 11 minutes. If there is a direct correlation between load and run time, I should expect 120 Minutes at 41W load, but I only got 70 minutes. It's possible that the unit's efficiency varies a lot depending on the load. e.g. the spec itself shows a much higher efficiency at half load than full load. Power on after battery runs out ------------------------------- I can confirm that it will automatically switch back on when power is restored. I have seen many complaints relating to similar devices where that is not the case. That alone is an critical feature for me. After power on from discharged, the display immediately showed the battery as half charged, so that does not seem to be reliable. I'm giving it 4 stars for now. I'll run it for while, then test it again. Will come back and update here and adjust the stars as I think fit. ... show more

  • Arrived DOA, bad battery. Amazon walk away from this and leave you to deal with the manufacturer.
Size: 1500VA/900W
This arrived DOA, and Amazon were no help at all. However the manufacturer was great and sent out a replacement unit overnight.
