I used this item to replace a Verizon G1100 which had poor coverage and speed over the last 7 years. The G3100 works great and the coverage is much better and with greater speed. I used the coaxial cable connection the same as with the G1100. I used the SON (self-organizing-feature) which is standard to automatically choose the channels and bands. It can be shut off through the menu which allows manual configuration but I found my printer on my desktop tied in via USB cable didn't work then through the network so I went back to the SON and all is good. ... show more

I have a pixelation problem with HD channels on Fios. Verizon told me my router was no longer supported and that updating it would fix the problem. I replaced my old router with this one. It was easy and it works better than the old one. It didn't totally fix my problem; but it increased wifi distance and Fios channels look better. ... show more

Works just as well as the router I was renting from Verizon and has faster downloads with less buffering. Also it is saving me the $15 a month I was paying to Verizon on my monthly bill to use one of their routers. Wish I had bought this sooner.
