The chair does look the same as the photo and is attractive, fits well in my office space. The upholstery is not velvet. It's an lower grade polyester velourish type of fabric. It is not what I expected. The seat is quite hard, although the back is padded well enough. I will need to make or purchase a cushion for the seat because this thing is hard as a rock. It rolls easily, which is a plus. Overall its design is comfortable enough (barring the hard seat) but I would prefer a better quality fabric upholstery. ... show more

I bought this because I was putting together my home office, and the office chair I had was 1) so uncomfortable, I couldn't sit there and work all day, even getting up every 30 mins! By 2:30, I was in so much pain, I'd move to my bed to lay down and work. And 2) ugly. So I got this chair. First it showed up so quickly! It said it would take 3ish weeks, but I got it in a week. Second, it was very quick and easy to put together! The only issue was putting the wheels on, but then I realized you just kinda had to really push them in and they snapped into place. Thirdly, the color is amazing, and looks just like the pictures! This chair is really pretty. Lastly, SO.COMFORTABLE! The back comes up to right below my shoulders (I'm 6' so maybe on shorter people it will come up higher) but offers a lot of support! And the seat is wide, and the perfect combination of soft and supportive. The first day I had it, I worked all day and had NO PAIN. It was amazing. I love this chair! ... show more

The chair itself looks good, it came in good shape and seems sturdy, but that's all the good feedback that I have about it. My biggest issue with it is that the seat is short; I like to sit cross legged when I'm working for a long period of time, but I can't do that comfortably. The material is slightly slippery, so that doesn't help. I also can't put my baby on my lap since there's little room and there seems to be a slope due to the seating not being deep enough. I know it's not a nursery chair, but it looked more spacious in the picture than it actually was, and so I thought that would work out. The other reviews were spot on about the lack of back support, it's pretty bad. Adding a pillow for lumbar support would leave even less room on the seat. The chair is on the firmer side and not particularly comfortable, in my opinion. Finally, the seller charges $54 to return the chair! That's a quarter of what I paid, so of course I'm going to look for an alternative to returning it. Apparently the seller handles their own shipping. I didn't know in advance that it would be different from any other Amazon purchase I've made, and I wouldn't have taken a chance had I known. ... show more
