    • Base could have been a bit wider
Ok, so the base could have been a bit wider. It's easy to tip over. I put the wires under a carpet and ran it on either side of my door. I was lucky to have the box part be just able to be on the other side of the door to prevent being stepped on. Easy to assemble, and once I screwed the screws on, it seemed sturdy enough. Just wish the base was bigger so it wouldn't tip over so easily. It has to face the wall for better effects. I used the surplife app to set the colors up. It was easy for me to find. I have android. Can't speak for Apple. I went through the remote colors and the app colors and they were all nice. I liked the color options and liked a specific effect, but not the colors in it. Being able to set my own was the topping on the cake! I love a specific pink and a specific blue and a specific purple. I was able to find those colors and experiment with it to get it to show exactly as I wanted on the real lights. I set it in a specific pattern and let it play. It looks great! My mom came by and saw it and loved it. My house is super colorful. These add a nice ambiance to the place. As long as no one bumps it, it should be fine. I have them back a bit from the wall. They could have been behind a TV, but the only TV in the living room is... gasp... above the fireplace... and I don't know if I want the lights on the stand above the fireplace either side of the TV. They'd have to be pretty high up. I prefer the lights on the floor. Speaking of the listing, I see the cable in the first image showing that the lights are connected. It also has another image telling how far apart the light bars can be. Maybe they added those images later, but it showed up for me before I ordered it, and I knew what I was getting before ordering it... but I can only speak for myself and what was there when I was ordering it/when I first saw the listing. I've had it for a few weeks and it's still going strong and hasn't randomly switched from the colors I chose in the app like some lights do. I like it. ... show more

    • Excellent lights, wired as a pair so can't be placed separately
Excellent lights with a great range of color and hue available to choose from. Worked great in the spot we wanted to use them in near a tv in an entertainment room. As long as you don't want them more than about 10' away from each other I would recommend these to anyone.

    • Great lights with questionable design
Starting with the positives, these lights look great and have fantastic brightness. Even when they're not on, the silhouette just looks aesthetically pleasing when placed on either side of a TV or entertainment center. When turned on, they feature a pretty nice range of brightness, temperature, and overall color options. The fact that they're meant to be facing the wall gives them a huge advantage on this point. I should also mention that the companion app is actually fairly decent. You get a good amount of options and some fun customization. The major negative comes from the build quality/design itself. These are very noticeably top-heavy. When placed on solid flooring (not carpet), the slightest bump can tilt them just enough for gravity to do the rest of the work and send them falling over. I'd have expected this from setting them on carpet, but no, carpet is even worse. If you somehow get them to stay standing on carpet, the slightest air pressure difference such as closing/opening a door will send them falling. It's quite disappointing. There is approximately 5 feet of wire going to each light bar for a total of a 10 foot spread between the two light bars. The setup was a breeze. I appreciate products that don't require a complicated installation process, and this one certainly delivered on that front. Within minutes, I had the light bar up and running, ready to illuminate my room with its dazzling array of colors. Speaking of colors, the variety and brightness of the LED lights are impressive. Whether I'm in the mood for a calming blue, a fiery red, or a funky purple, this light bar has it all. The remote control makes it incredibly easy to adjust the colors and brightness to suit any occasion or mood. There's also an app you can install on your phone which is actually pretty good, once you get the hang of it. There's a vast array of colors to choose from and the "color card" seems pretty true to color. You can create color pre-sets as well! I've found this light bar to be perfect for setting the ambiance during movie nights, parties, or simply when I want to relax and unwind with some soothing colors. It's also a conversation starter whenever guests come over – everyone wants to know where I got this amazing light! Durability-wise, I've been pleasantly surprised. Despite its sleek and slender design, the Velted Multicolor Floor Light Bar feels sturdy and well-made.
