At this price point this is the best e-bike value, probably anywhere online, definitely on Amazon. Buying from Amazon with the discount and free shipping made this a great purchase. The large capacity battery is higher than name brand e-bikes, also the 750W Bafang motor and hydraulic brakes really pass up the competition on Amazon and off. I did a lot of research, this is an incredible bike. It is a large frame bike, I’m 5’9” and it fits me well, a smaller rider maybe 5’5” and smaller is going to find it too big. It’s heavy also, I was surprised by that, but it rolls and tracks very well, very stable at higher speeds. The packaging blew me away, no scratches or dings! Out of the box the battery was fully charged and I saw 26.8 MPH on my first ride, it gets up to speed quickly and maintains it, peddle assist is really cool, having never owned an e-bike before that put a big smile on my face! Great value, super great components, and the fun factor, I HIGHLY recommend this bike. Update… 100 miles on my bike with only a slight gear tensioning adjustment. Also I purchased a new seat, mirror (a must have), water bottle cage, liquid tire sealer, and a phone holder, all convenient items to have. I love this bike! 200 mile update… no adjustments, all smiles! I get asked all the time where I bought this, and I proudly say on Amazon! Still love this bike!

My first experience with an Ebike. I'm in decent shape at 62 y.o standing 6 ft and weighing 180 lbs. I have owned road bikes, mountain bikes and beach cruisers in my lifetime. My initial impression of the Velowave Ranger is that it's quite a remarkable bike. She's a hefty beast, yet nimble and well balanced. Assembly was easy, straightforward and took me about an hour. I went slowly, to ensure everything was adjusted and tightened correctly. This Ebike is exactly as described, performs as expected and is a sheer delight to ride. I charged the battery to 100% before testing out the bike. I took it out for a shakedown run of 6 miles on some dirt roads near my home. Smooth and extremely comfortable are the two words to best describe it. Then, I went on a 20 mile ride in the evening, pushing the limits of everything. The hydraulic brakes are amazing. Several deer jumped out in front of me, along with some small woodland creatures. In each instance, I was able to stop very quickly. I dampened down the adjustable front suspension for my comfort level, giving me a firm ride with adequate bump absorption. Shifting between the 7 gears was smooth and effortless, too. The battery was at 28% after a total of 26 miles ridden. I felt that I had worked it hard and therefore am pleased with the power and range. The headlight is extremely bright, giving clear notice to others. I appreciate having 2 sets of frame mounts for both a pump and water bottle. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and functionality of this Ebike. The packaging was well thought out, with nary a scratch or mar anywhere. Every single weld on this 6061 aluminum frame was perfect, too. I would highly recommend the Velowave Ranger to anyone wanting a bigger sized Ebike. For some folks though, it might be too much bike for them, as it's a hefty beast. I loaded it on my car carrier rack w/o the battery installed and it tested my abilities. I'd recommend removing the battery during transport anyways, to eliminate any possibility of having the heavy battery come loose. I don't see that happening though, with the solid, locking mechanism that holds it in. I'll update in a few weeks with any notable additions. UPDATE: After 4 days and nearly 100 miles ridden, I'm a big fan of this bike. 👍❤️

I purchased this bicycle for commuting roughly less than 5 miles round trip to work daily. I have commuted approximately 40 miles over the last two weeks and charged twice. Here are my opinions of the VELOWAVE Electric Bike 750W - Fat Tire model. Shipping and Assembly: The shipping was quite fast. I believe the turnaround time from purchase to delivery was about a week. This might vary from location to location. The packaging was quite damaged upon delivery, but the bicycle was not. I was able to assemble the bike by myself within about 45 mins. The bike comes with clear instructions and all the tools needed to assemble at home without extra tools. The bike was solidly built with no manufacturing defects noticed upon assembly or riding. I left the bike to charge for 24 hours to avoid issues before the first ride. First issue: My first issue with the bicycle came after the first ride. I took a 10-mile ride around the neighborhood to test it out. I did not go off-roading and stayed on paved roads and bikeways. At some point during the ride, I went over a goat head that I later discovered punctured my rear tire just. The goat head was big enough to give me a flat. It was then that I discovered how complex and difficult it would be to try to either patch or replace the inter tube if this flat was more severe. I went to Walmart to get a sealant (the fat tire took two containers to completely seal the puncture because the fat tire was too big). I recommend using Ultra Instant Bike Tire Inflator Sealer as it worked for me, and I got my tire back to riding status. Frankly, I think these tires should be more resistant to punctures due to the rear tire's complex setup and the motor placed on the wheel. The Ride: The ride was extremely enjoyable, and the pedal assist was amazing. I rode 10 miles on the first ride and barely broke a sweat. The battery dropped about 20% on the first ride. I occasionally used the throttle during the ride but mainly rode on the pedal assist level 2. The bike has 5 levels of pedal assist, with the 3rd-5th level feeling almost as if you're only riding on the electric motor. I average about 20-25 mph when using level 3 and gear 5. The throttle gives you a nice acceleration and maxes out at 20 mph when riding on flat roads. Uphill, about 15 mph. I would guess that if I only used the battery to ride around I might get 20 miles out of one charge. Charging: I've had to charge the bike once since the first ride. I noticed that the battery charge fluctuates heavily when left outside in high heat. We have been experiencing 100+ degree days, which has created issues when riding, normally draining the battery significantly during usage. Other than that, charging is relatively quick. I could get about 40% of battery in under 2 hours of charging. As mentioned in the listing, the battery detaches, which is useful when working in an office setting or needing a charge while you accomplish some errand. My overall recommendation is to NOT get the fat tire model of this bike. If you get the mountain bike version, you have more flexibility to get tubeless tires or more durable tires, plus you will have more selection available to you. Another factor that I did not take into consideration is the replacement of the tubes or tires when required. The front tire is easily detached and replaced, but the rear tire will be a little more complex. With that said, I recommend this bike. If you buy it, make sure you have sealant available when you inevitably get a puncture.
