Class 2 folding bike was the only one I wanted so the only sign(s) on pathways or trails that I need to look for are "no motorized vehicles" or “no bicycles” since WA allows shared access for Class 2 Ebikes. Speeds above 20mph or motors over 750 watt (peak or RMS), whether unlocked or not, are labeled Class 3 and aren't allowed to share pathways and trails with pedestrians. Ride safe and don't fly by pedestrians please, be cool. The folding option helps for winter storage. There are a plethora of Chinese company manufactured bikes on this website, some ship from USA and others have ridiculous shipping charges from overseas, this F1 model was the only one of those that made it on my research list while first focusing on Rad Runner 2 (made in CA) and Lectric 2.0 (a USA company). GoTrax (made in TX) is also worth considering as they have multiple Class 2 models with 7.8mAh or 10.4mAh batteries, either front stiff forks or suspension, but lighter weight limits of 220-264lbs (one has to include all your gear and mod weight). The F1 ships from CA and has a fair list of replacement parts and an extra battery at a decent cost. When the price of the F1 fell into the sub five hundred range with inexpensive shipping costs, it beat out the other two choices because the F1 has front suspension, so I took a chance. F1 also states 2 year warranty (read the details), would be nice if I never need it and Veefa is around for it all; 2 years puts them on par with Rad Power and GoTrax, and doubles Lectric 1 year. The F1 did come well packaged and mostly assembled, took me about 30 minutes to unpack and complete, then spent another 30 minutes making sure all the bolts were tight. Didn't put the energy into the spokes for tightness, so far seem to be lucking out with that laziness. With the savings I bought several modifications to make it a better looking, more comfortable and tech functional Ebike. I get so many “nice bike” from strangers on the street. First order of business, the pedals were plastic with just a metal bar inserted in part of it, I would not trust these pedals and bought a full alloy folding set (search "red folding pedals") choosing the red as there were more upgrades I found with anodized red to work with, looks good with the grey model. The Lectric 2.0 does come with hydraulic brakes, but not the F1 or Rad Runner 2. Seen a lot of straight posts with a spring, but they usually were around the 200lb limit, I'm tall and heavier than that, so I wanted something beefier and needed an unusual 33.9mm. This lock has some weight and the holder for it is plastic, riding on the street or without many bumps everything if fine, but if you were to hit a lot of bumps or rocks/roots while mountain biking, I would at least remove the lock from the plastic holder (if not the whole thing) as the holder could crack at the screw mount points. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQNTDLR4?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4 The other is a pretty cool rechargeable rear taillight/turn signal/brake light/emergency flasher/horn/alarm with a wireless remote that mounts on your handlebars and easily removes to take with you. This devices seat post mount mounted perfectly with the holes in the F1 frame that the red reflector is mounted on, and even has the perfect slight upwards tilt to make it more visible from behind while not extending past the bike rack on sides or rear. I have put 89 miles on this bike with apx1.5 charges, mostly PAS mode. It has worked well and I like how the PAS system and 7 speed gearing are well matched. PAS 1 runs around 8mph and works best with 1st - 3rd gear, PAS 2 around 11mph 2nd - 5th gear and up the scale to PAS 5 with 6th & 7th gear for 20mph. You can pedal harder for over 20mph, the motor does not assist over that, but I've found 25mph in 7th gear is a very rapid pedal pace and at my limit. The PAS helps get you started on your first pedal crank, so expect that when you start out, but it won't drive you into a wall in my experience, it's just a push and then waits for you to pedal more. As long as you pedal, the motor will create the opportunity to assist and will assist to about 1 sec after you stop pedaling. Overall it seems tame and just there to assist you. Say you're in PAS 4 (about 17mph) and cruising along in 6th or 7th gear with the motor barely assisting and start heading up a hill, just drop a gear or two and the motor will start to assist more to help you maintain that PAS 4 speed, you'll still get a good workout cranking harder at a faster pace. The "thumb" throttle does the work for you and does have a variable speed touch (i.e. you can hold for 6 or 12mph, etc.), but it is not as steady or precise as a twist throttle like on a motorcycle where it's easier to hold a speed. You can hit a bump and your thumb will shift, but no worries, it's not crazy sensitive or powerful to throw you off or anything. Throttle will not exceed 20mph, hence the Class 2 Ebike. I have gone down a hill better than 37mph (speedo gets a little wonky measuring over 35mph) and the bike does feel sturdy and steady to me, but to any bicycle user, you will notice a difference between 20" (F1) and 26" wheels on other bikes when it comes to higher speeds. I sit tall and steer tall, yet find this bike easily maneuverable on tight turns and such, speed matters of course. Welds look good and stepping back to take it in, it does look and feel like a strong frame design with plenty of thick cross members and thick grade metal, so I'm good with its 297lb weight limit (compare it to the GoTrax F2 & R2 step thru models and you may see the same weaker point I see that could elude to its lighter weight rating). Metal fenders are a good touch and I like that they cover a good amount of the tire to prevent spray up, but there is a little rattle here or there. Fastening levers for seat post, steering column and battery compartment are metal along with accompanying high tension hardware parts, an earlier reviewer notes the battery compartment handle was plastic, my production date was 8/3/24 if this makes a difference, purchase date was 1/24/25. As long as you're not manhandling them and take consideration when and how to use them, they have been fine in my experience. The chain doesn't give me the strongest impression, but considering the price of the bike it does the job and note that if/when it breaks or wears out, you can pony up for a higher grade chain. A note about the kickstand, I like this one compared to the normal thin metal ones you find with just a rubber end that usually sinks into sand or grass. This one is a thick plastic resin, seems strong, has a cool flare style and a decent size footprint for different textures to park on. It does mount lower from the frame than most however and it causes a little fuss setting it into my back rack, but I'm making it work with some cradle adjustment on rear wheel. Company graphics: I'm good with the white VEEFA and F1 lettering on the battery compartment as it looks good, not so crazy about the company URL being so visible on both sides of the rear frame, could have at least dropped the “www.”, but considering the savings, I'll let it ride until I find a aesthetically correct way to change that. Veefa states not to ride in heavy rain (not that I plan to) and I would concur with this as the battery compartment is not totally sealed from water. When you lock the battery, a dime size metal protrusion sticks through a hole in the the frame and this area isn't water tight. So my advice is if you do ride in the rain or hit heavy puddles, take out the battery after and wipe it down along with at least a few inches within the battery compartment on all sides to make sure everything is dry. Initially I wasn't big on the Ebike “step thru” design because I've rode motorcycles for decades and have always had the mindset to throw my leg over a seat, but I must say, the step thru is nice. Getting a bit older and throwing the leg is getting old as well, so it's a break to just pick the leg up a bit and move it through considering how high I run my seat. With everything I've experienced on this bike, my only concerns left are motor and battery longevity, time will tell. All in all, happy with my F1 purchase and upgrades keeping it under a thousand. Sad to see some people are having issues recently and unfortunately these things happen, it's why I said I took a "chance" and so far lucked out, also why I would never spend those high shipping rates from the direct overseas sellers. Hopefully Veefa proves to be a company that handles these things well. I did have some comms with Veefa and they responded within 1-2 business days and they do comms from overseas. I noticed my F1 label on the bike said Class 3, they confirmed it is Class 2 and said a batch of F1's came out mislabeled, they sent a digital label, but I did have to ask for a replacement sticker label to put over the wrong one and they did ship me it, so points for following through. If I have any problems, you can bet I will be updating this review. Good luck with your research and ultimate purchase choice. Quagmire LXIX Update 3/30/25: Extra Battery – The other comms I had with Veefa was about the Silver vs Black battery for the F1. I asked why we had to be sure to buy the same color battery as the one that came with the F1, they said there was a size difference (I have to presume this meant physical size as both are 10.4mAh), didn't compute with me looking at them, but is what it is. Would love to get a hold of a Silver one and check the fit and electrical connections myself. Since another complete F1 was just a bit more than twice the price of an extra battery, I contemplated buying another F1 to get that extra battery, plus have another bike for a friend to ride and having a complete 2nd bike as spare parts for mine, sounded like a win, win, win. They couldn't guarantee me that buying a 2nd F1 would yield me the same color battery, but if I did do it, they offered and undisclosed discount on a separate battery purchase if a different color with the new bike, a nice thought, but not the cards I wanted to play at that time since I feel I've been riding a lucky hand so far. After passing 120 miles and still feeling confident in my purchase, I did buy a 2nd battery direct from the Veefa website for extended weekend campground rides where recharging may not be feasible and to secure another battery for long term use, hopefully. I received it in 2 business days, free shipping out of WA this time. I found a decent carrying/fire case that straps well on the luggage rack. Veefa states they find a battery maintaining 75% capacity as still good under warranty and apparently charge count is collected on the battery, so I have to watch and take note of this. I am going to swap the batteries out for each charge vs keeping one in storage charge. Do your research on how to maintain Ebike batteries, some points are 1) Don't discharge below 20% as this could deplete materials and is most likely cause for short lifespan 2) Storage should be around 60% charge or manufacturers recommendation 3) Best to keep charge between 20-80%, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't charge to 100%, just means when you do charge fully, plan to go for a ride that knocks out at least 20% of that charge within a few days. Charging and storage temperature are also important. The F1 does have an external charging port that is rubber capped, the bike frame could act as a heatsink while charging, but there is always the option to remove the battery to charge as well, open air may be better for charging heat dissipation. If anyone is curious, the payment to Veefa was to a merchant named Yueda International.

Really impressed with this bike. It arrived a day early in perfect condition. It took my adult son 5 minutes to assemble, just put the handlebars in and pedals on. I’m a 67 year old petite senior woman. I needed a bike that had a minimum height level of 5 foot. This bike works fine for me although I do wish the handlebars could come down an inch or two yet but still very comfortable. The bike is too heavy for me to lift into the car, but it’s not heavy at all to ride when I come to a stop It’s super easy to balance. I wanted the fat tires for balance and the low speed of 20 mph just because I’m in a flat residential area and I just want the bike for light recreational use and I’m very pleased. Heard are easy to shift and the take off on the thumb held throttle is a little bit of a jolt but doesn’t cause any problem. I ordered a mirror and also a portable air compressor as my hand held tire pump didn’t fit well on the tube stem. The bike does have a front light but no tail light. A great bike that even accommodates short riders.

I get compliments when I ride how great the bike looks and it does look fantastic, but really it's just a joy to ride. After using this bike for a few weeks here are my takeaways: The battery life declines with use. When I first got the bike I had to charge it every 5 days, now I'm charging every 4 days. The design of the bike makes it very difficult to pull out the battery so that it can be charged. I've dropped the battery itself twice, resulting in superficial cracks in the plastic frame on the battery. If you have difficulties lifting and maneuvering large objects, this may not be the bike for you. One bike folds easily and fits in the back of a jeep liberty with all of the seats up. Two bikes would not fit with the seats up. Comfortable seat, smooth ride, and reaches a max of 20 mph before the motor/pedals stop speeding you up (you can coast to go faster, but won't be able to pedal to go faster until you slow down.)

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! The bike arrived well packaged, and it was super easy to set up—just needed to attach the pedals, and it was ready to ride. The seat can be adjusted to a very low position, making it perfect for my height of 59 inches. The ride is smooth, and the 5 levels of pedal assist give it great power when needed. This is my first electric bike, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I got it mainly for commuting and short trips around town. The packaging was excellent, and assembling the bike was straightforward, I just needed to attach the handlebars and pedals, and I was ready to go. So far, I've ridden around 15 miles, mostly on flat terrain. The motor has solid power, and the pedal assist really helps. For steeper hills, you'll definitely want to give it a bit more pedaling, but overall the ride is smooth and enjoyable. I weigh 180 pounds, and it handles hills fairly well. Overall, I'm thrilled with the bike and the customer service. It's great value for the price, I'd recommend the F1 to anyone.
