I have a combination wood and metal shop that I use year-round. Heating it is not problem. However, I have been sweltering during the hot summer months. A couple of floor fans simply did not do the job. I was in the market for a portable air conditioner and found this VCK 8,000 BTU unit. The VCK is perfect for my application. It is small enough to fit between two work benches, yet powerful enough to keep the entire shop cool. I was especially impressed by all the features. For example, it can be set for cooling, dehumidification, or just fan mode. It has a 24-hour timer that will come in handy for my application. For those who want to use it in a bedroom or other living space, it is very quiet at fewer than 50 decibels. All the settings are easily changed on the top panel but also with the IR remote control. As is the case with any portable AC unit, you will need to locate it within a few feet of a window. However, the included accordion style hose and window adapter make that a simple process and a screwdriver is the only tool necessary. The unit easily rolls from one room to another on casters. The only maintenance necessary is to clean the washable filter about once a week. I highly recommend this full-featured but reasonably priced portable AC unit.

Definitely not quiet. Seems to keep a 300 Sq ft room comfortable though. Dehumidifier works well in it though.

The unit itself cools very well and works great once installed. One note of warning, if you are using this on a window that opens vertically, the insert piece can be problematic if your window is of a certain size. I had to use an electric saw to cut the sliding piece to fit my window.

Heavy and noisy but works great and my cat loves the box. My window wasn't big enough for both of the pieces of the inserts and too big for only one so I cut out a piece of styrofoam from the box. It's pretty thick plastic so it probably won cut well. Not sure how universal they are.

So we live in an older house and our upstairs bedroom gets hot and uncomfortable in the warmer months. This ac works great! Cools the room down fast and isn’t too noisy. Easy to set up. My husband had it running in just a few minutes out of the box. Comes with a remote which is handy and easy to use. Overall, very satisfied!

I’ve had one other portable conditioner before this one. Last one is bigger but the compressor makes too much noise. This conditioner is small and quiet, and makes the room cool fast. Save energy and save money! Installation is very easy. Highly recommend!

In my house we have two rooms that is way too hot especially in Texas heat, so I got this and it actually has changed our lives. The price for how well made the product is great, the temperature goes all the way down too 65 so that’s amazing, doesn’t weight a ton so you won’t break your back, and it’s pretty low in noise when on, the only time it gets louder is when it’s on full blast but it actually kinda is like white noise so it helps me sleep. Plus an added app to have your room cold when you come home after a long day of work unlike some of the other Ac’s at this price. 10/10 product money well spent for sure!!

Love this product! It works great and keeps my whole roor cool. It's great for the summer and fairly easy to set up. My husband and I really likes this portable AC. We bought it a few weeks ago and are satisfied thus far. We can move it to any part of our home and it cools the area down. There are lots of options on it. Worth the money!
