My daughter and her husband bought 75 yr old home in a historic part of the city and all of the four fireplaces were either covered or not operational so we thought this fireplace insert would look great. The style is more traditional and not the sleek modern ones you so often see and this Valuxhome fireplace had the glass doors with this mesh screen which many of the older fireplaces had. This fireplace is electric and corded but can be converted to in wall with the help of an electrician in our case, we have no idea how or where to connect it so we will leave that up to a professional. This fireplace is 25.35” W x 21.7 H and 7.7” D, it’s not the exact size of the fireplace opening; however, you can purchase trim to go around the insert or you could build the trim yourself. Most fireplaces inserts have minimum cut out sizes that are required to insert the fireplace so you will want to pay particular attention to the requirements. This fire place requires no assembly and the construction and build seems to be very good, the glass doors are heat resistant and the mesh screen is good quality.. The insert includes a remote control where you can control one of three flame colors and 3 different top light colors, it even makes a crackling sound like burning wood. The feature they liked best was the heater function that’s adjustable from 750 to 1500W which comes in handy in an old house in the winter. For the price point we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this fireplace insert and how attractive it looked in their old brick fireplace. Many of the modern inserts have several flame colors but we were happy with the choices, the flames looked fairly realistic and the heat it produced was very noticeable.
