I bought this vacuum sealer because I like buying a lot of food in bulk, and portioning them and putting them in normal plastic bags wasn't cutting it - you'll quickly get freezer burn with foods that way. By portioning out and vacuum sealing foods, you can avoid this and stuff will last a lot longer. For example, I can buy meats and cheese in bulk, portion them out, and put them in the fridge or freezer as needed. I also use this sealer to pack camping and emergency outdoor supplies like matches and candles, and sealing them keeps them waterproof and protected. The features on this food sealer are similiar to most other models out there - there's a wet/dry food mode to help achieve a good seal, but you'll always get the best results with moist foods or raw meats if you bag them up first, put them in the freezer for a few minutes to help things solidify, and then seal. There's a button to seal the ends of bags, and another to seal the bags once they have contents inside. I find that there's generally enough suction. One really nice feature is that the entire bottom of the unit comes off easily so you can wash it, which not all food sealers can do. The top part has touch buttons that are completely flush, so you can easily wipe this surface down - no nooks and crannies to get gunked up. There's also an accessory vacuum port and a hose to use with compatible food containers, which aren't included (and I wasn't able to try). Overall, a good value for a basic food sealer, and it's small, so you can tuck it away in a drawer when not using it.

Works great for dry items. I tried using to freeze ham bone. It sucks the liquid and won’t seal. I tried 3 times with larger bag but same problem. I double bagged it and then it worked to seal. I do like it and use it.

The media could not be loaded. I always wanted to try a vacuum sealer for various food related savings. I do some bulk buying and butchering of game, so I figured anything to help preserve that stuff would be a good idea. This JOSOBO Dry/Moist Vacuum Sealer Machine is pretty reasonably priced so a good entry into trying out the what a vacuum sealer has to offer. It's not super high end, but a good starter kit since it comes with some bags and the cutter is build in. In the pics I was using some test lunch meat turkey. I wanted to try something small to start. I just followed the directions that came with the unit. They are not great but will get you started. I'd say you need to be sure the vacuum area is very clear or else the seal won't take. But it does what it says, vacuums out the air and seals the bag for better food storage and prolongs freezer or fridge life. On the pics you can see where some of the moisture was sucked out and left in the tray. So be mindful with items that are not completely dry. The unit itself is pretty light weight. I found myself constantly accidentally hitting a button and starting one of the processes, unintentionally. I think they are a bit sensitive. Also, the built in cutter works fine, but you do need to be sure you have it held down and the bag situated properly/tightly. I do like that you can use either pre-made bags or rolls. With the roll you just have to seal one end prior to adding contents. The sealer functions seems to work just fine for this. All in all, it's a good entry level vacuum sealer kit in my opinion. Not exceptional, but for the price will do the job. I give it 4 stars.

My primary reason for purchasing this food vacuum sealer was to help preserve freshness of the food I sometimes make for my dog and to save room in my fridge and freezer. Historically I had to use various sizes of ziplock bags, which isn't an awful option but a lot of times I was jamming a too-small bag to the brim or wasting space in a larger bag, then I had to just do my best to squeeze out the air. If I ran out of ziplock bags it was bulky Tupperware. Now I have a roll of customizable bag sizes that I just seal on one end, fill, cut, adjust settings, and I have a perfectly sealed bag of food with nearly zero space wasted. I haven't yet tried to use the feature for removing air from other items like jars but I'm very interested to try it with preserves or something to help lock in freshness. If I had to pick out one thing that could be improved, honestly it's just the instructions; they could be a lot clearer. Seems that it was translated to English rather than written in English originally and so not every instruction is clear or makes perfect sense.
