My very first vacuum sealer, and I love it! Not only is it ideal for sealing food, but there are many other uses. The controls are very simple and straight-forward. It does come with a sample amount of 15 vacuum bags that are 8"X10." I have since gone online and purchased a pack of 2 rolls of bags that you can trim to whatever length you want. The unit itself is compact and basically maintenance-free! Even though there are tips and tricks online that will enable you to use other types of bags, you may end up damaging the sealing strip from melted bag material. My advice, stick to using standard "Vacuum Sealing" bags. Have Fun!

I love this. I use it on everything . My favorite control is the manual button where you control how much you want to suck it down. Easy to use, has a bag cutter built in and is not bulky.

A little difficult to use. Gets very hot. Must let it rest after a while. I shop a buy one get one free meat sale 3 times a year, so I have a lot a meat to freeze when I shop. It takes all night to do it.

I have had several vacuum sealers over the years, and this is one of the least expensive, other than the used ones I got from the thrift stores. When I first got it and tried to seal some bags, it would not vacuum sufficiently and seal. It just kept running and running, and would not go into the seal mode. Because of previous experiences like this I decided to try something that has worked in the past under similar circumstances. I took some petroleum jelly, like Vaseline, and put a very very thin coat on the upper and lower gaskets. Those are the long soft foam gaskets that seal around the bag in order to vacuum out the air and initiate the sealing process. After the application of the petroleum jelly, it's working fine. Evidently, the gaskets were unable to create a tight seal so it just kept vacuuming. It was taking forever originally, and simply would not work properly. It's working great now, and vacuums much faster and seals very well. It's a nice wide seal, which is desirable. The other thing I didn't like very much was how hard it is to read the buttons. The printing on the buttons is not very prominent, and it's difficult to read them. Once you push the buttons, they do light up, which makes it very easy to read, but you would ideally want the printing to be more legible before pushing the button. The third thing that I didn't care for, was the way the electrical cord plugs into the back of the unit. It sticks straight out and prohibits you from pushing it as far back on your counter as you might want. It has to sit at least two to three inches away from the backsplash which requires it takes up more counter space. If you plan on storing it after each use, this would not be an issue, but I normally use them pretty frequently and keep it on the counter all the time. The Vaseline trick is something that is usually reserved for units that are several years old and the gaskets are drying out. It shouldn't need this treatment straight out of the box. Because of the gasket issue, and the hard to read buttons, and the cord, I am giving this unit 3 stars. I hope this has been helpful. ***AMENDED REVIEW*** THE MANUFACTURER CONTACTED ME VERY SHORTLY AFTER I POSTED MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. Due to some poor packaging, the foam gaskets had some deformities, and those gaskets required quite a few days to recuperate. My original testing took place immediately after receiving it. I tried it again about a week later at the suggestion of the manufacturer and everything now works perfectly. I flipped the gaskets over so that it was the part that had never received any petroleum jelly, and everything works great. I am raising my review from three stars to four stars. The buttons are still fairly difficult to read, and that would be the only reason, otherwise, it's very quiet, vacuums fairly quickly, and creates a wonderful wide seal. THANK YOU TO THE MANUFACTURER for a very speedy response to my concern.

has a simple stop inside the tray to get the depth right everytime for suction. Good suction strength and controllable. It has good foam seal rings that come out simply for cleaning and easy to wipe down. good light weight for simple storage... a good buy for a "inexpensive" sealer...

I already own a inexpensive Amazon vacuum sealer that I primarily use for meat-freezing and sous videing, but I wanted to seek out one that has additional quality of life features that my current one doesn't have. When I first saw this product, I liked that there was a drip tray (missing in the box) and that it supposedly could vacuum AND seal at the same time on demand (it doesn't). When vacuum sealing with my old sealer, it vacuums AND seals when it reaches enough pressure. Though, if I press the seal button manually, it stops vacuuming THEN seals. This is annoying because when the vacuum stops a small amount of air typically recedes back into the bag. Manually sealing is nice when sealing moist food you want to seal just before the liquid reaches the sealing area. Welp, I was wrong. Turns out mine was missing the drip tray and this vacuum sealer pauses the vacuum every time it seals, including the standard vacuum/seal mode. Cons: - It's missing the drip tray. - Can't vacuum and seal at the same time. - I reuse and clean my bags, so I try to keep the space between the seal and the opening to a minimum as this area is cut off and discarded after every reuse. My old one was about a 1/4in between the seal and the opening, this one is closer to a full inch. Not a big deal, but I'll get less uses out of one bag. - The wine sealer is a nice addition, but I have no idea how to use it and the instructions didn't mention it. Pros: - It came with some bags, which is always nice especially if this is your first time vacuum sealing. - It's sleek and attractive looking over my other outdated looking vacuum sealer. - It's nice to have a slide cutter built into the device, it's just one less thing to grab when prepping food. Although, I did have some trouble getting the blade to catch since it's rather flimsy. - This sealer is much quieter than my old one and seals about the same, if not better! - I like that there's a manual vacuum button where I can precisely control the vacuuming. With my old one it's a game of timing the vacuum and sealing with moist or crushable foods. - The sealing bar is over twice as wide as my old one. This is nice because I often manually seal twice to ensure a good seal, which is unnecessary with how wide this strip is. Overall, if you're looking for an inexpensive vacuum sealer that does the job, MIGHT have a drip tray as advertised, has bags, isn't too loud, and has some nifty features, consider this one!
