I never leave a review on products but I had to leave one on this tent. I don’t think there’s a better tent on the market, regardless of price. I ordered the big version. The product description can be a little hard to understand which one you get. I recommend looking at the product weight. I ordered the one that’s almost 100 lbs and got exactly what I wanted. The features of this tent are far superior to the other manufacturers. I made a list of everything I wanted in a tent and this one exceeded my want list. I can’t wait to put it to the test in elk camp. No doubt it will be great. Side note…the camp chef alpine stove works great in this tent! ... show more

There are no windows to let light in. The canvas is so dark it is like a cave in there. This is not worth the price at all. Maybe half. Buy a white one instead. And, it caught on fire, the first time I burned a woodstove in here, and the second time. This is terrible.. the flap outside burned and the canvas crap inside burned. What a joke. I hope I get a refund. ... show more

Got this tent for my group of festival friends so that we have a communal place to just relax and enjoy ourselves. It is very spacious. We typically have a inflatable sectional in it, a foldable loveseat camping chair, and a mattress all adorned with fuzzy blankets to make it cozy. We primarily have a stove going in the center and will likely have two stoves going for the deep winter. Unfortunately one has to buy two large kingcamp stoves to have enough stacks to go out the center stove jack; however, two is perfect to have enough stacks for both stove positions to work. My only real gripe is that although there is a velcroed spot in the floor in the center that can be pulled up to set the stove on, there isn't a similar spot on the side where the second stove can go, so we put down a wool blanket. ... show more

    • Limited usefulness, exceptional build...
Sorry no photos or video yet. Hope to by next summer.... I'm somewhat of a tent snob and as such I don't know what to say about this tent. It's solidly built. The fabric, zippers, poles, guy lines, etc. are what you would expect and more in a tent of this price. The design is weird to my mind. My wife likes it. I view round as inefficient, but fun. Over the years I've used my tents almost exclusively for backcountry/wilderness camping, primarily in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, but elsewhere as well. When I buy a tent, I want lightweight and sturdy and just about nothing else. I want it to stand without leaking through a violent thunderstorm and to fit easily in my backpack, or tied on below it. And for such tents I've usually had to spend $250-$500. Back in the day, tents were more expensive and (I tend to think) lasted longer. I still use a North Face four-season I got 35 years ago. Modern backpacking tents have too much netting to last as long. Today I hope for ten years out of a tent, not thirty, and I have tents from Kelty, Sierra Design, North Face and Mountain Hardwear. That's the background of this review. I like backpacking tents. But lately my wife and I have been taking vacations every year by the shore of Lake Michigan at a remote campground on the dunes of the lake--car camping, in short. And for car camping, weight isn't as crucial in a tent. Durability in a storm is still vital, but even that isn't quite as essential when you have a car you can get into or a portable canopy you can pull over your tent if necessary. So in the last several years we've gotten a few Coleman-style family camping tents. They're relatively cheap compared to backpacking tents, they have lots of space and they just generally serve well in a static campsite. This is a weird tent because it's better built than Coleman-type family tents, but not three times better (and it costs three times as much). Aesthetically, however, it's really cool and much more fun--both in external looks and in the 360-degree view from inside. The tent fabric is a thick canvas, making this a beast of a tent in weight. It's heavy, even for car camping. Setup is easy, though there are more guy lines than in a family tent of equal square footage. Poles and stakes are solid--the stakes look like mini-rebar. Everything about this tent is exceptional, including the price. And that's where I end this review. It's a superb tent: beautiful, fun, well-built. If you like the aesthetics and can afford this tent, you'll enjoy it for years. If you're looking for a simple family-camping tent, you can get a good one for a quarter the price. You can't take this backwoods. It's too heavy. But for car camping and prolonged stays on a single site, it's really nice. It's a five star tent for the right usage and desire in a tent. For other purposes, it's probably a one-star tent for the same reasons this is otherwise a five-star tent: weight, shape, cost. ... show more
