These strip lights are just what I needed to brighten up the area under the shelf on my workbench. They are just barely bright enough in comparison to the overhead lights, which are pretty bright. The color temperatures seems fairly accurate, although i think they might be a little warmer than 3000K. I don't have a way to measure color temperatures, so that's just a guess. The light strip seems to be well made, and the lead-in cord seems adequately long. There is a rubbery coating over the LED's themselves which offers some protection and helps diffuse the light. The adhesive strip on the back is entirely adequate for sticking them on any smooth surface. I made a mistake and had to peel them off and reapply, and they still stuck just fine. Just make sure you peel off only the thin blue plastic layer and not the adhesive layer itself. I don't think it says it in the description, but it appears that the strip can be trimmed to length without harm, so that's a plus. I chose to leave it full length though. The major flaw in this product is the control. Tapping the control button turns the LED's on and off, but pressing and holding will start the dimming/brightening sequence. Every time you touch and hold, the brightness goes in the opposite direction from the last time you did it. It progresses pretty quickly, so you have to be quick on the trigger to get it to stop where you want it. The good news is that once you get the brightness you want, it will remember that setting so the next time you turn it off then on, it will go to the brightness level you last used, even it if is unplugged in between. Also, if it is unplugged at some point, it will always be in the OFF setting when you plug it back in.

I'm enjoying these lights. There's a very short cord on them, so you might need an extension cord. Also, the plug is USB, so you might need a USB outlet block. There is a controller on the short cord that, by holding it down, it either dims or brightens the lights. I have to touch it several times to get it to work in the direction I want it to go; it's not clear how to make it go one way or another but I've found that it changes each time I touch it so I've gotten it work that way. For the unpredictability of the controls I decided this is 4 stars instead of 5. These came in a simple pack with no real instructions (the pack did say that these can be cut on certain lines, among other things), but I figured out that the back peels off to reveal adhesive underneath for attaching. Still, these don't get hot so I ended up just taping the up on my wall because I want to use the adhesive when we move to our new house. Overall, they are great little lights, I just wish I understood the controller a little bit better and there are no instructions.

This LED strip is useful to light up an area such as under a counter or in a closet - which is where I installed it. The cord is rather short so I had to buy an extension cord to be able to install is around the shelves in my walk-in closet. It is fairly bright and really helps on dark mornings to grab what I am going to wear that day. I am sure it will work well in many areas.
