  • A good air compressor for those times you can't get help
Color: Yellow
UUP Tire Inflator Air Compressor, 150PSI 12V DC Double Cylinders Heavy Duty Portable Air Ok folks, this is an honest review. I have beel looking for a 12v dc air compressor for lidterally a couple years now. I was tired of those cheapies that either can't pump up the air while it sounds like it is going to fall apart, or just sound like they will struggle just to get a little air in the tire. Lets face it, when you are on the road and you have a tire that needs air, what are you gonna do? Thats where I was. I have a couple of really cheap air pumps and hoped they would work when I needed them, but I knew I had dto find something that was of better dependability. I noticed my tire was low on air, and I was out of town. My crappy 12v air compressors were at home. I dove into Amazon and started my continuing search for a 12v dc air compressor, but this time I HAD TO FIND ONE. I spent the better part of a day looking for a compressor, a lot of them just didn't look like they could hold up, looking much like my crappy ones at home. I paid a lot of attention to the reviews. This compressor had outstanding reviews. In reviews you expect to hear some crab complain about something stupid, usually from something THEY did to cause the problem. BUT not one bad complaint on thnis unit. Reading further, they talk about how sturdy this compressor was, the dual pistons, the strong motor. One fellow said he used it only on his 18 wheeler, and it preformed for him perfectly... THAT SOLD ME. I ordered to to be delivered where I was staying and it arrived in a coupld days. I read the instructions so I wouldn't miss anything important and went out to the car. THIS compressor has both a cigarette lighter plug and a pig tail that clamps onto the battery posts direct with the cig lighter plug socket where the compressor plug will plugs into. This compressor can take 20 amps (acording to the instructions) so you probably should not plug into the cars cigarette lighter sockete. Some are fused at 10 amps and this compressor will blow the fuse. The compressor cigarette plug also has a fuse, a 20 amp I think and you get a spare fuse or two. You also get a couple of nozzeles for blowing up sports balls and air toys plus you get an odd device that attaches to a screw driver. It has little horns stickin gout in variuos directions and from what I read, is for doing something that I will never do, to the tire. It mayh be to take the tire off the rim but I'm not doing that. You also get a coiled hose that connects to the compressor and nozzel, but you may not need it. You get about 20 feet of electrical cord, which JUST REACHED my tire that was in trouble. This is where the coild of tubing might come in handy or hae an additional 25 foot of wire to connect to extend the rezch of the compressor. you would need a regular cigarette lighter socket on one end and aplug on the other. Plugging into the power we find the compressor has 2 switches, one is for the LED LIGHT and the other is to turn on the compressor motor. Attach the hose to the tire valve, you should get a PSI reading, mine was very low. Turning the motor switch on (strongly advised to have the car running when you do this), and the compressor comes to life. The sound of the compressor running is very different from that of the cheap compressors rattling away. THIS compressor sounds like a large installed compressor in a shop, the sound is muffled as it pumps air into the tire. The air guage monitors the PSI in the tire as it pumps up. This compressor had NO problem pumping up the tire in about 8 minutes. The compressor ran fine, and it had no problem pumping up that tire where my other compressors would be getting hot and struggling to pump the tire pressure up. The sound from the cheap compressors would be very loud where, again, this compressor is very low key, sounds substantial, well built. Filled the tire and took it to a shop where they promptly found a 1/4 inch bolt in the treads. The Tire was repaired and I was on my way. This pump saved the day. Thee is a LED light tdhat you can switch on to help see what you are doing. I RECOMEND THIS COMPRESSOR indeed. I do not know the seller nor did I receive any money or product for my random review 230315 1250 ... show more

  • A FAIRLY COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW, WITH TIPS!
Color: Blue1
I’ve really been impressed with this little but powerful unit. The UUP Tire Inflator is light and compact for an air inflator—which I really appreciate—but it performs like a heavyweight. It puts out a lot of air for its size. It’s built solidly, and built in such a way that there’s little that can go wrong with it. In other words, it’s a minimalist build, without all the bells and whistles found on many other more expensive units that just aren’t necessary. And I really like it that way, because it’s extremely simple to operate, and there’s very little that can go wrong with it. And not only is the inflator itself built solidly, but notably so is the storage bag. You know how it seems that most of the time storage bags are flimsy and fall apart easily? Not this one! It’s a very strong and durable bag, which should last a very long time, perhaps even a lifetime. It’s THAT tough. And I really appreciate that this company has seen fit to provide a durable bag worthy of the well-built inflator. It’s operation is as easy as flipping a switch. And there are only two rocker-type, on/off switches—one for the inflator, and one for the front LED light (which is not super bright but is adequately bright). It really is that simple to use (once you’ve attached the hose of course to whatever it is you want to inflate, but that’s very easy as well). The unit makes some noise of course, but relative to most inflators I’ve owned or used (which is many, I’m 61 :-), it’s relatively quiet and vibrates very little. Note that it will get warm to the point of hot after continuous use. So I strongly recommend resting the inflator every 15 minutes or so of use for at least 5 minutes. THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT YOUR UNIT TO LAST AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. (Sorry for the all-caps, but it is very important.) Another feature worth mentioning : unlike with many other inflators I’ve owned, this one has cables that are actually long enough to reach all four tires! (Although I might add that it wouldn’t be long enough for many motorhomes/RVs, without some sort of 12-volt extension.) Make sure you check to see that it can reach all four of your tires before putting it in the trunk and forgetting about it. You want to be sure BEFORE getting a flat on some highway or country road. You may have noticed that this unit comes with “dual cylinders.” I won’t go into the science of why this is important (boring to most folks), but trust me when I say that you want dual cylinders, especially in a relatively inexpensive inflator. Most such inflators only have one cylinder and do not perform—or last—nearly as long as one with dual cylinders. As the description states, the dual cylinder construction is especially designed for trucks and SUVs, with a maximum pressure of 150psi and an air flow of 70L per minute. That’s a lot of air and pressure! Thus airing up typical cars should be a proverbial piece of cake. The very first time I used this inflator I filled up my truck’s full-size spare tire which was basically flat. It took about 8 minutes to go from flat to 35psi. Now this might seem like an eternity compared to an air compressor at a gas station. But it’s an unfair comparison, for the simple reason that I was using a portable inflator, NOT a compressor. They’re completely different beasts. But compared to other relatively inexpensive inflators, the UUP performed very well, faster even than other typical inflators. The other thing to be said is that when stranded with a flat on some far-away road or highway, 6-8 minutes isn’t a long time at all. (Mine was a big truck tire; it would take less time for most car tires.) The important point here is that this little unit reliably pumps a lot of air in little time—just what you need and want for flat-tire emergencies. Finally, just remember (as I absentmindedly did not the first time I used it!) to turn on your engine, thereby strengthening your battery, BEFORE using the inflator. This is a must! If you don’t, you’ll certainly blow the fuse for your cigarette lighter/12 volt outlet. (Which is why I recommend carrying a set of blade fuses—normal-sized, mini, and low-profile—in your vehicle at all times. There are oodles of such sets on Amazon; just search for “automotive fuses.”) The cigarette-lighter often has a blue, 15-amp mini fuse, but be sure to check your owner’s manual to determine exactly which fuse your 12-volt outlet (cigarette lighter) uses! In sum, everyone should carry one of these inflators in their vehicle (whether it’s this brand or another one, but I obviously highly recommend this one). The UUP is built very well, is compact and light, is durable and dependable, pushes out a lot of air in relatively little time, is very easy to use, and comes with all the accessories you need for air-inflation purposes (including inflating balls, air mattresses, etc.). It even includes an emergency light, built into the front of the inflator. You’d be hard pressed to find a better one in this price range. Thanks for reading, and I hope you found something useful. (As always, I have no connection whatsoever to the company that makes this product. The opinions expressed are completely my own. ... show more

  • Quiet and efficient, a must have in your trunk
Color: Blue1
A must-have in your trunk. Quickly and quietly refill low tires with very little hassle. I often drive on the beach and let air out of the tires too. Get a little bit better traction and not sink in the sand as much. But then you need to air back up before you go out on the road... And this is the perfect tool for that. The cord is long enough that I can reach all wheels on my full size four-wheel drive truck, It's not very loud, and it fills the tires quickly. ... show more

  • Hit and miss quality
Color: Yellow
Works pretty decent, the clamps suck and barely worked and broke on first use. The psi gauge doesn't even work. Looks beautiful but poor quality in some areas
Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2023 by Great product! Been needing this forever on my avalanche. Apply with a 2.5in paintbrush, one single coat is enough. If you do it more than once you get swirls of excess product. This is the real deal. I even applied a coat to the headlights, they came out better than they were. No sanding but if I had I'm sure it would of came out amazingly. Even for a single sloppy coat it did great. I needed this chemical a decade ago

  • Tough, fast air pump.
Color: Orange
I like everything about this unit, Compact, easy grip handle, Price is reasonable, fills tires fast, quiet, rubber pads on base keep unit from walking, attachments fit well(no leaks). Needle Gauge seems accurate ( like better than led types), has some weight to it- instead of the usual plastic ricky ticky typically being sold in the market place. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Excellent!
Color: Black1
Better than I expected! Purchased to keep in truck for tires and air ride suspension. I'm impressed. Takes loaded air suspension from 25psi to 75psi in under 30 seconds. With it being used almost daily we'll see how long it lasts.....

  • High quality
Color: Yellow
I recently filled 12 trailer tires ranging from 22psi to 90 psi. It worked well. It did not take an excessive time to go from 75 to 90, maybe 4 min. The gage is not accurate at lower pressures, but within 4psi at 90 (checked with a digital gage). Make sure that you stop the pump to read the gage. I have had this about a month and used it about 20 times. I recommend it. ... show more
