The speaker was fine and the light up aspect was cool. The problem was when i had the volume up to high and it was a heavier bass song it blew the speaker. Now its crackly and has to be leaned against something to try to stop the sound. If you are trying to buy just a generic speaker its not bad but, if you are looking for volume and bass, I would get a different speaker.

This is a great speaker for its size. Considering the small footprint, I was not expecting it to have such a good volume, but this speaker can push some sound. As with most speakers in this size range, it does fairly well on the mid and high ranges, but lacks a deep rich base. That is typical though so this is right in line for most speakers of this size. It's small enough (4”x4”x3”) to fit anywhere for travel and charges quickly. The controls are located easily on top and very intuitive without even reading the directions. It is rated as ip65 which makes it waterproof, great for taking outside and not having to worry about getting it wet. If you’re looking for a small travel speaker, this is a good bet.

Straight out of the box this speaker impresses. It looks great, stylish and packs a punch. After giving this speaker a full charge I took it out on the deck and listened to a podcast and then some music as I worked around my yard, BTing some classic rock from Pandora. Soft rock, hard rock, crunchy guitar rock and even some country and everything sounded great. This tiny speaker packs a punch, providing nice low end bass and drum sound without drowning out the vocals and no matter where I was in proximity to the speaker, the sound was always 'right there', even after more than 2.5 hours of run time. The speaker looks stylish and it has that 'built to last' feel to it. It's small and will easily pack into any go bag and will be perfect for hikes, trips to the pool or the beach or camping or just chilling around the back yard. This is an impressive speaker at a great price. I love mine already and I think you will to. Update: After using this speaker for a while I have 'discovered' the following. 1). The speaker quality is quite good. I have mine on my kitchen counter and use it during meal prep. I can turn up the speaker enough that you would have to talk over the speaker, all without distortion. 2). The RBG lights are nice, but they can be changed or switched off easily. I don't mind them and my kids think they are cool. I will turn them off in order to extend play time of the speaker. In a room with subdued lighting the lights cast a nice and soothing glow. 3). In order to prevent the battery from building up a memory, I do not charge the speaker until the battery is depleted. I can get through an entire week without charging and still get 1-1.5hrs of daily play time and the speaker provides great sound throughout. 4). Portability means the speaker moves when you do. I can move from kitchen to dining area with no problem. You won't miss anything if you have to move from room to room. 5). Easy to use, this has become my go to speaker for my podcasts and I can listen to my favorite songs while cleaning or cooking and it always sounds great without any distortion.

Portable Bluetooth speakers are everywhere and so manufacturers search for unique niches where their offering will stand out. This USCNRUGE speaker has several key features. First, it has an IP65 rating, which means it can survive water splashes, dust and corrosion. Sounds great for the beach. It has bright RGB lights on the front face… maybe fun for an evening party on the same beach. In addition to playing music via bluetooth from your phone, it also has a built-in micro SD card slot which can play mp3 files you have loaded on a card. The speaker gets pretty loud before it distorts which is great. Sadly, the most important thing they forgot about was the sound. Am I expecting too much? The description mentions sub-woofer and 360 degree sound (whatever that is). Simply put this speaker has good mids and highs but almost no bass. About the only way I could recommend it is if you just want a speaker to listen to podcasts or pop music while you shower. You could turn off the silly RGB lights and listen to your hearts content without worrying about splashes or moisture. Otherwise, I’m afraid it just sounds flat. The unit is plastic, coated in rubber and solid. On the front is a grille behind which we see what looks like a speaker cone but is actually the RGB display. Sound appears to come from a much smaller speaker in the center. There is a lot of background hiss from the speaker but this may not be an issue given the target environment. At the rear of the unit is a squishy bass port that vibrates with the music but doesn’t move enough air for any bass. Also on the rear is a removable rubber cover beneath which we find two USB ports, a type-C for charging, a type-A for playing music off a USB memory stick There is a 3.5mm AUX audio-in jack and a micro-SD card slot for self-contained playback. The unit is quite heavy, probably from the internal battery and has chunky rubber buttons on the top for on/off, volume and to control those RGB lights. There are 7 light modes which lets you choose color and movement combinations and a rather poor sound-to-light effect. They are bright though. Bluetooth pairing was easy to my iPhone 13 Pro and voice prompts were clear and helpful. I was impressed that the unit starts playing files from the micro-SD card as soon as it is inserted, simple and very convenient if you want a self-contained music player. Of course there is no display so selecting specific tracks is out of the question. Controls like track skip, mode selection (Bluetooth/SD/USB) are based on dual functions for most of the rubber buttons but they are described in the user guide included. At it’s list price the speaker is competing with units from name-brand manufacturers and with much better sound. Brands like Anker, JBL even Bose have better sounding speakers at or near this price range, albeit without the cool RGB light show. Unless you saw something you must have in my description above or the price drops considerably, I can’t recommend this unit. [EDIT] The price has dropped significantly since my review and I think is now much better value. If you need a loud dust and water protected speaker for the pool or beach this will work. Just don’t expect a lot of bass.
