I absolutely love these. I'm a casual skater now, no more roller derby and whatnot, so these are better suited to my needs than any crazy expensive pair. They're really comfortable, true to size, and REALLY SERIOUSLY FOR REAL ANKLE SUPPORT which is a HUGE deal for me as my ankle has been broken twice and it has a tendency to just give out sometimes...which isn't exactly fantastic when you're zipping around on wheels and potentially about to mow down a little kid or small animal or whatever. I'm going to replace the wheels as I prefer something with a bit smoother of a ride over concrete. For the money, you're not going to find a better skate. I read so many reviews of outdoor/indoor skates that my head was spinning. I wanted to find a pair of skates that would work on the common outdoor surfaces. Most people were using them indoors or on very smooth pavement at skate parks. I am cheap and I want to use them on the roads/sidewalks in my neighborhood that are "free". After much searching, I decided to order these due to the review video that showed them being used outside on traditional sidewalks and because they were one of the few that was true Prime delivery. When they arrived I was happy that at 52, I could still skate a little without falling down. However, what I remembered from childhood, the smooth, swish, swish of my skates was not what was happening. These skates would hardly roll and I was working harder than I remember to move forward. After going around the block in them, half-mile, and reading more about skates, I decided that the answer to the problem was new wheels. However, the wheels cost more than the skates. So, I searched Amazon more and finally found the perfect pair. I set up the return of these and ordered the new pair. A few hours later, I realized the "new" pair was just another pair of these. Well, I had to admit, if these skates were so perfect in the description, how come they were not perfect in reality? So, back to the internet, I went. I found out that I needed to loosen the wheels! When I sat down and just used my finger to spin each wheel, most of them were tight but ALL were tightened differently. So, there was my explanation of why these were so perfect in the description but were not when I used them. The wheels were not spinning and the few that did could not do it alone. So, I grabbed a wrench. Tighten them all down the same and then, proceeded to loosen them all to the point that when I counted to 1008, the wheel was still spinning a little. Now, these skates are actually moving me and I am enjoying the experience. I did not give them 5 stars because even though they are great, I would have liked a bit more cushion on the tongue and that it came all the way to the top. I cannot strap the stake in the last clasp because the tongue will cut into my leg. A bit of cushioning would help a lot. The same for the insert, more cushioning would be better. However, these skates deserve 4 stars because they are absolutely great outdoors if you take the time to check the wheels when you receive them and then adjust so that they are all rolling freely. ... show more

    • Great beginner skates, just prep before skating!

These are great beginner skates, I've been using them for about 3 months now, and have done the following things to make sure they are perfect for my daily skating: You need a Y3 tool so you can adjust your trucks and loosen the wheels. Out the box, they are tight, so it will feel like you're not rolling or able to lean. This is basic skating maintenance, and you'll need to learn to do this for when you decide to switch out your wheels. The wheels are (according to the listing) 95A. They are hard, and meant for indoor only. For those of you who want to go outside and skate, you NEED to buy another set of wheels that are softer (they go down to 78A). If you're interesting in hybrid wheels, so you can skate inside and outside, you might go for something like 85A. I have wider feet, and high arches, and started getting some foot pain in my skates. I looked up lacing methods, and there are plenty of pictures and recommendations for those who have foot pain! (ex: I skip the 2nd eyelets to give room for my arches, and no longer have foot pain!). ... show more

(a REAL review) I was a complete beginner and bought these thinking they’d be a good option for my new lead in my school’s production of “Xanadu”. Tried skating in these and my wheels kept stopping. Though it was a “me” problem but my coach informed it was not. You’re not able to sustain any movement in them. I had to switch the given wheels out for way better but certainly pricier 50 dollar wheels (Rollerbones if you’re curious) and they then worked perfectly! My coach also recommended switching out my stopper because the given one is made of plastic which works fine but deteriorates quickly, so I switched to a rubber stopper as well. The best part though is the boot itself. It is fashionable and a great fit without being too tight. Although, I find that doing movement with a pointed foot is incredibly difficult as my boot digs into the back of my calf when I do stuff like that. On the other hand, the boot gives some support for the bottom of the foot which is helpful on long days of skating practice! Ultimately I’m happy to have them but should've just bought the $100 skates I was looking at cause I ended up spending the same amount anyway fixing them up. ... show more

I read nearly every review when shopping for affordable skates and I followed advice and also ordered new bearings for these skates. I looooove them! Even if all you can do is wear them around the. House they are great for strengthening your booty and legs! I did catch the fever tho and also bought new cute heavy duty hibiscus designed toe stops for outdoor durability. ( they were selling out fast lol) Anyone complaining about these skates are spoiled and impossible to please because these skates are perfect for beginners or like me,out of practice for many years. Any accessory or extra part you need will add to the cost of skates. I would love moxie or impala but they are too expensive. BUY these and rebuild them as you go! They skate great and feel great and look great!!! I love the purple wheels! ... show more
