Description

A traditional alarm clock may seem obsolescent compared to modern smart phones, it actually can be a healthy upgrade to your bedroom based on some recent researches - phones mess with sleep even after being muted or dimmed. Some UE-128 (our classic and popular model) users report that they feel more refreshed after abandoning phones as alarm. After listening to thousands of customers and months of development, we are now proudly announcing the release of our 2019 newest upgrade - the UE-168. Sleek and simple, the new model not only looks great on your nightstand but also versatile to aid with everything from falling asleep at night to waking up in the morning, and eventually promoting better sleep cycles. This is a perfect selection for whom want to wake up on weekdays and sleep during the weekends. Lets you lower the brightness (or even completely off) to keep your bedroom darker while you're sleeping. You will never worry too bright at night. Or you can set your favorite channel as the 6th wake up sound. 3.5mm headphone jack makes it convenient not disturbing others nearby. Shuts off the radio sound in between 10 to 150min depending on your setting, so you can fall asleep to your favorite music, pod cast or talk show. • Easy to setup and use this clock radio
Color: Black
I glanced thru instruction but probably did not need it. This is straight forward. Set the current date/time, then set either wake 1 or 2 and hold to set hour/minute and rotate top knob to set both. Then it is easy to set multiple wake up settings for clock, tones etc. Compared to others I purchased to replace my easy-to-use dead clock, this is by far one of the easiest and best. I also like the display is not red like my old which is annoying. You can also change display brightness. If you are used to simple to use wake up clock radio. I'd suggest this one. ... show more

  • It's tiny, but mighty!
Color: Black
I had a digital alarm clock for forever, but then it finally bit the dust. I went on a long journey searching for a good alarm clock that met my needs in my price range. First, I really wanted an alarm clock with a radio, brightness control (knob preferred), date, military time (24HR Format), and more. I had previously ordered 3 other alarm clocks that didn't suffice. With my past clocks, I had the issues of: lowest level of brightness is still too bright, buttons no longer functioning, radio volume control dying, etc. So I had some experience in looking for clocks. Then I came across this clock. I've had this clock for 8 months, and there are absolutely no issues to report (minor ones mentioned below). At first, I was worried about the small size, but that doesn't matter much when you think about the features. I will provide an overview of the quality of the clock's major functions and a general look at the clock itself. BRIGHTNESS CONTROL: 9 / 10 Amazing. It was able to go lower than most of the other clocks I've had before. In fact, I've never had to raise a clock brightness because the lowest level was too hard to see! I would've given it a 10 out of 10, but on the other hand, it doesn't go quite as bright as I would've hoped. Still, it's bright enough. RADIO: 7 / 10 Pretty Good. Does a good job catching a radio signal, and it works as a radio does. The rotating knob is very helpful, as I can switch stations much faster and it makes it much less frustrating than pressing a button multiple times. The speaker quality is good enough for regular listening purposes, and is good considering the size of the clock. On the other hand, I was disappointed that it doesn't have station presets. Luckily, the knob helps with changing stations quickly, so there is not much difference. ALARMS: 9 / 10 Great. It comes with the standard ALARM 1 & 2. The weekday/weekend function is very nice to have, and works as it should. I was very pleased that those options were available on both alarms with an easy-to-access sliding switch. The alarm tunes are good as well. I use the old fashioned phone ring most of the time, but I've used the others on other occasions. I very much appreciate the gradual volume rise that the alarm offers, and I don't think I could ever go back. It works so that the lowest possible volume is used to wake you up, and that if you don't stop it, it will go higher, therefore, annoying you. The snooze function is well thought out, as pushing the big knob starts it. However, the responsiveness of the button for snooze isn't always consistent. Sometimes it takes 1 or 2 more clicks before it stops. Nonetheless, it is not a big issue, and that doesn't bother me. BATTERY BACKUP: 10 / 10 Perfect. It works exactly as it says it should. I was happy that after unplugging it, for a number of different purposes, the time did not deviate, and that I could still view the time if I wanted while it was unplugged. I have no cons for this function. FINAL OVERVIEW 9 / 10 Great! The clock keeps time well, has a sturdy construction, and all of its functions work as described. I didn't think that I needed to see a temperature on the clock, but I found it useful from time to time. The USB ports that come with it work well, and it is always useful to have some of those! It might be a concern for most people that it is hard to read the clock with so much information on the screen, but I have had no difficulty. I've peeked in my room to see the time, even through a closet, and I could easily see the time. There is a difficulty, however, in viewing the time from below the clock's level. If your viewing point is lower than the clock (if you are looking up to see the time) you might have trouble reading it well. Although, I imagine that won't be a big issue for most people. The knob works great, and I probably won't go back to a clock without one. However, the knob feels like it was made from cheap materials and is mildly flimsy. However, that doesn't affect its function. I did have concerns for the knob for the brightness level, which has a very mechanical feel to it, but after changing the brightness day and night for 8 months, it doesn't seem to affect its function at all. Also, the screen can be easily scratched, so take care to protect it from any contact with objects. I would very much recommend this clock to anyone, and it has become one of my favorite clocks I've had over time. Below is a simplified pro/con list. Pros: Excellent execution of all major functions. Multiple functions packed into a tiny clock. Battery backup functions well, in case of a power outage. Rotating knob works well to make life easier when setting time, changing stations, etc. Brightness control for a dark room at night and appropriate brightness during the day. USB Ports for helpful charging. Cons: Hard to view from below; not great from all viewing angles. Cheap-feeling rotating knob. Worrisome feel for the brightness control. Small size. ... show more

  • Very good alarm clock
Color: Black
This clock has many great features. I really like being able to set the brightness level and the fact that the clock is small but the numbers are large. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and in large enough print that I didn't need a magnifying glass to read them. There is battery backup in case of a power outage. You have several options for the alarm tone or you can wake to the radio. One of my favorite thing is the dial you use to set the time. Instead of pushing a button numerous times (and many more if you accidentally go past the target number) you just turn the dial either way. I would have given this five stars but for a couple of things. The button you push to turn off the alarm is right next to several other buttons of the same size and shape (would like it to be larger or in a different place). The second issue was the FM radio. If you select the auto tune the clock picks the first 30 stations that come in clearly - in my case it didn't get to my 3 favorites. I didn't want to do manual tuning because you only get to select one station. I finally ran auto tune in an area that didn't get as good reception and it picked up two of my favorites. You could probably do the same thing by bunching up the antenna as long as your favorite stations have a strong signal. ... show more

  • Small, easy to read alarm clock
Color: Black
I did a lot of reading of reviews and features when I was looking for a new alarm clock as my 20 year old clock would no longer let me change the minutes on my alarm. I wanted an alarm clock that had an fm radio, that was powered by plugging it in, and had usb ports. This fit all of those requirements and had good reviews. Some reviewers said it was not the easiest to set up and for the most part I would disagree. It was incredibly easy to set the time and alarms. When I wanted to find a radio station to wake up to was when I had more difficulty. I used the mode where it would automatically find stations. It finds the first 30 stations (some of which are pretty much static) and then stops (where I'm at meant it stopped before 100) I wanted to wake up to 107.9. There was a part in the directions about how to manually set the radio but that meant I had to take the batteries out and unplug it in order to manually set the radio. I wish I had read that part first because that meant I had to reset the clock and alarm! I feel like there could be a better way to switch between automatic and manual searching for a station. I also wish that you could set more than 1 station when you do it manually. But that wouldn't stop me from recommending this clock. I appreciate that you set a volume for your alarm and it starts out quieter than that and increases the volume. It does this pretty quickly (I would say it increases to maximum volume within 15 seconds). I like the other options for the alarm besides the radio and beeps. This clock is VERY bright but there is a dimmer dial. I do turn it down pretty low at night as I like it really dark. But makes it hard to read at other parts of the day. There is no automatic adjustment for the light level in the room but that wasn't one of my requirements when looking for a clock. Perhaps I should have looked for that because I cannot read this clock across the room during the day when I have it set at the dimness level I like it at night. I probably should have gone with an alternative color (my previous clock had been green) such as green or red to help combat the brightness. Overall I'm satisfied with this clock. The alarm has gone off each morning. I will test out using the second alarm tonight so hopefully all goes well. ... show more

  • Amazing little clock radio for its size
Color: Black
I only purchased this because I read all the good reviews. My much larger clock radio of many years finally bit the dust and I'm thrilled with this replacement. Yes, it is very small but such an improvement over what I thought was a pretty good previous device . We always wake to the radio and I sometimes had reception problems with my previous clock/radio. Couldn't believe that the station I always use came in clear as a bell having just stretched out the little cord antenna from its wound up position in the box. I was concerned about this because I was always having to adjust the antenna from my previous clock/radio to get decent reception. Everything is so simple to do on this little goodie ... yes one needs to check the instructions and follow them in the beginning but all is very clearly explained and apparently there is an instruction video from what it shows in the instruction booklet if one wants to check this out ... I didn't. For daytime this radio can be very bright and clear or dimmed as much as desired for night time by winding up or down the little dimmer switch in back. Like so many, I also love that this little device takes up so little room on my night stand, has two alarms that can be set, and it's so easy to set the time and alarms once one checks out the instructions. My only concern would be that the display might go missing parts as was the experienc of around 3 of the reviewers, but the Company sounds great and I think they all got replacements. I think I read that it's at least a year that the Co. will replace a defective product and it might be longer but, hopefully, a problem would show up in that time frame and the Company sounds from the reviewers to be very responsive. Lots of reviews to wade through on this little "guy" and most, like me, are very pleased with this relatively inexpensive clock/radio. If you're on a budget like a lot of us, I'd say go for it as I think this is a great bang for your buck! ... show more

  • Best Clock Ever in 50 Years of Getting Myself Up
Color: Black
I am old enough to have used wind ups, electrics with dials, electrics with little number cards that flipped, (remember those?), LED numerals, clock radios, and just telling myself to wake up at 7. This is hands down the best alarm system ever. I say system because of the array of choices. Sleep options, sound options, snooze options, info on the clock face, plus USB ports and a headphone jack. My favorite option is the dual alarm with weekday, weekend and 7 day modes. I use weekday for the M-F grind/morning get-up. I only use weekend mode when forced to, for a special function. My special favorite is the 7 day mode, reserved for naps any day, any time of the week. I turn it on when needed. (Push one top button.) To reset the time I want to wake up literally takes seconds. My favorite sound option is the quiet little bird chirping. I am a super light sleeper, so it only wakes me. However, there are multiple options from buzzer to beeper to sound effects to the radio coming on tuned to your favorite station. Then there is the dial light with the 0-100% dimmable function. Dial up to full in the daytime for visibility, dial all the way off at night because I like it dark. If needed I can gradually turn it up just enough to check the time, or way up as a night light to stumble out for a calling kid. Set up was easy for everything, with the picture-labeled buttons on top for easy access, change time with the big top dial that moves either way (and is also the snooze button) and only the dual alarm function switch on the back. Oh, and it is always colder/hotter in our bedroom than the rest of the house, depending on the season, and with the thermometer, I can now see how much. (Yikes -10 degrees!) I mean, the only thing this clock does not do is start the Keurig. (May have to suggest that upgrade to uscce.) Great clock! Buy it! ... show more

  • It's a great little alarm clock radio - but dosen't work for me.
Color: Black
Although there is a lot to like about this alarm clock, overall I'm disappointed with it and it's going back. It has a great display that, unlike most others, displays the times set for each alarm. You don't have to tap any buttons to check what time its set for. It also displays the day of the week and the temperature. The display is easily dimmed, with a simple wheel to turn on the back. Also, it's surprisingly small, which only slightly hurts it's performance (it's a bit tinny). I like to listen to the radio for a few minutes, then get up with the alarm (if I don't tap the snooze for a few extra minutes). So I set the radio to go on some minutes before the alarm, and when the alarm goes off and you tap the button to stop it (or the snooze button), the alarm shuts up, but so does the radio - and I need it to stay on (like any other clock radio I've had in the past). The alarms can only be set for weekdays, weekends or every day, but it's easy to override. I only really need to get up early three says a week, so I have it set for weekdays - and on days I don't have to get up early I tap the alarm button and in place of the time it's set for, it displays OFF. he next time I need the alarm, I just tap that button again and it displays the time it's set for. Setting the time or radio station to play is easy. Tap the button to set the time or radio, and then turn the wheel on top to roll through the time or radio frequencies. It's great that it has charging ports. It says, "Dual USB (1.1A + 2A)," which seems to mean one port will charge at 1.1A and the other at 2A. My phone shows each port only charging at about 620mA. I didn't try using both ports at the same time, but that's probably the maximum the unit can handle. If the 'wall wart' power supply had a higher current rating it might charge at a higher rate (I've just returned it so I can't check it's current rating). Also, the radio is staticky when you have something charging. ... show more

  • Better than most. Would rate 4.5 stars if that was an option.
Updated review: I bought this as a replacement to an Emerson alarm clock that I had for many years. We do not take our phones to bed, plus I dislike my phone's alarm clock, so a normal alarm clock was the only option. Last night was my first night with the uscce Digital Alarm Clock. I liked the Emerson, but there was one huge drawback - the brightness of the display. In fact, I kept the alarm clock covered to keep my bedroom dark. So, I was thrilled to see that the uscce alarm clock had a dimmer, and according to reviews, it goes dark. This is the best feature of this clock - it can be dimmed so your bedroom stays dark. It is also easy to make it brighter, if you need to see the screen. Here are the things I like: the dimmer, dual alarms, choices for the alarm sounds/tones, small size, fairly easy setup; battery backup. For the items I dislike, I will compare them to the Emerson. First, the sound is supposed to start low and slow and gradually increase. The Emerson handled this well, but the uscce did not. It quickly increased in sound and speed (I chose the beeping) so I woke up to a jarring sound, rather than a softer, background noise. I usually wake up quickly too, but within seconds the uscce was screaming at me. I have the sound set at 6, and will lower it tonight. Nothing puts me in a worse mood for the day then waking up wrong. The second thing I disliked was how to turn it off. I could not tell if it was off or not, so I clicked the button a few times. With Emerson, there was a flashing light indicating the alarm was still on, so it was easy to see once it was turned off. As mentioned, last night was my first night. Tonight I will change tones to the birds and see if that is better and I may also reduced the sound from 6 to 4 ish. I hope I get used to turning it off so this becomes a non-issue. Update: there IS a flashing light that lets you know the alarm is still on, so that's great. I am now using the music with birds and it is significantly better (for me) than the beeping. I have the volume at 3 and it's still a bit loud from the start though. Overall, it is a good alarm clock, especially for the price. A few modifications and I would rate it a 5. ... show more
