This operates just like it describes it will. This is helping me run all my flash drives and supporting hardware without taking up all of the ports on my pc. The charging ports are an added bonus.

Why are there never enough USB ports on a desktop computer? The webpage does a good job of describing the features of this USB hub. I believe newer computers have more USB ports available. My gaming PC has only two 3.1 USB type A available. I need to multiply that number. One of those is now dedicated to my router connection and the other one is often needed for a variety of uses. Mainly data transfer to a flash drive. This USB hub caught my eye because of the included high wattage dedicated charging ports. I also like the screen showing the active charging rate. I will use these ports often. In fact, so often that I nano taped this hub to the case of my PC. I can say the charging ports of this device rate 5 stars. One thing to mention is that I needed an adapter to let me charge USB A type connections. It seems to work but it might slow down the charging rate. I also needed a USB adapter to connect this hub to my PCs USB A port. The adapter is rated for 3. The transfer rate of the adapter is stated to be up to 5Gbps. So now with this hub connected to my PC 3.1 port I tested the data transfer rate at about 20 Mbps. Yikes! I removed the hub at the transfer rate only doubled without the hub in use. But it did double. Where is the issue. I think many factors are affecting this. The actual USB flash drive, the adapter and the hub compatibility. I think all three of those factors come into play. I was hoping for more. With that said, I do like this USB hub. It has a user-friendly design. I love that it also has an on/off button so I can turn it off when not in use. I like the number of available ports. I like the screen showing rates and 'in use' lights. The aluminum housing and design indicates a good quality. The gray color matches my PC well. There is plenty of available braided cable for me to place it in a number of different locations. The hub appears to be well designed and sturdy. It is plug and play at least in my situation. A clever design and has good features. I only give four stars because I can't find a solution for faster data transfer. It would also be nice if it had the option of a USB A connection as well as type C.

My laptop only has one USB port. I am constantly struggling because I am not able to use multiple ports. I use the cad function on several architectural programs and it is so much easier with a mouse. If my mouse is plugged in I don't have an empty USB port. This little devise solves the problem and provides charging at the same time. In addition to four USB A ports the unit is set up with three USP C ports. The transfer speeds from laptop to external devise are also wicked fast. Easy to charge multiple phones, run the mouse for my laptop and earbuds all at the same time. The hub unit is sleek and small. The power cord is a bit large but can be hidden under a desk with other cords and the unit plugged in and available on a desktop or counter for easy access.

I bought 3 of these. Two for my gaming PC and one for work. Two of them died in the first day. Both of them have that "blown capacitor" smell and won't turn on at all. I didn't even get a chance to really run a test on the transfer rate. The last of the 3 is on day 5. I'll update if it dies as well. But overall I'd avoid this. It's sad, as it looks and feels well built on the outside.

I've had USB hubs that always seem problematic. Certain things work well, but some don't. But I've been using this for several weeks, with multiple storage devices connected, and everything just works great. I don't even have to think about the hub being there until it's time to connect a new device. I have it connected to a desktop PC that's a few years old, and this hub has greatly expanded the number of devices I can connect. I'm really happy with it.
