These type of dongles are practically essential with modern laptops due to the trend of thinness and no RJ-45/Ethernet port. This one works as good, I get full gigabit speed and the connection is stable. Only two negative things I have noticed: 1. One in Ten plug-ins Windows reports that the USB device malfunctioned. Simply unplugging and reinserting fixes the issue. Iโ€™d guess early read with bad contact causes it, maybe plugging it into too slow. 2. If you bump the adapter while in use it can drop the connection briefly. I canโ€™t dock a star for #2 because I think this is common among all USB to Ethernet adapters, though it might be easier to do with USB C as USB A can have a more rigid connection. I have two of these and overall I am satisfied, so far this is the best usb to Ethernet adapter Iโ€™ve used and doesnโ€™t have any issue with actually staying in the port, and the Ethernet cable is snug as well. ... show more

    • Plug and play in line with product description
As my title says, it is in line with the product description, and it is plug and play. Like most users think, it is really convenient and small. It can be directly plugged into my laptop HP2095, or the Chromebook in my work environment. It can be connected when it is detected that the network cable is inserted, and no driver installation is required. Remarks: But after using it for a long time, you will find that it is indeed hot and hot beyond my imagination, but my office environment is in the computer room, and the temperature is maintained at a certain degree of coldness, so I ignore its hotness. Update : They had very good customer support, after I respond my problem about "hot" issue, they quickly reply you and analysis your question, then give you feedback, now I get another new one, no more "hot" issue. Bought this for a laptop that work provided me. Like most employers, they don't check with the employee on what they would like and I really needed a laptop with an ethernet port. Attached it to a RJ45 ethernet cable to connect to USB-C port MacBook Pro to transfer data using Migration Assistant on Mac. Cable transfers data more quickly and surely than WiFi.

The adapter developed an issue around a month after receiving it. I reached out to the seller, LSYDirect, and they asked a few troubleshooting questions before going ahead and fast shipping me out a replacement which has been working well so far. Very pleased with this seller.

    • Great Adapter - Plug and Play Right Out Of The Box (PC)
There is a lot to admire about this product. And I'm sorry, but even the best WiFi suffers drops and interference, which gets worse as more and more WiFi devices proliferate in the home, office, and on the move. So having an ethernet adapter for a modern laptop that has no native ethernet jack is a must in my view. It works right out of the box. I plugged it into my PC and attached a cat6 cable to a 1gig ethernet and it worked immediately. No issues. This was with an LG Gram with the latest generation hardware in it. Perfect for travel, even comes with it's own little pouch to store it in. The device is well made, and features an aluminum housing, which will help dissipate heat better and more efficiently. The USB C connector and it's cable are roubust, with a woven fabric outer cover on the cable. Everything about this device oozes "premium quality". Some reviewers have noted/complained that the device gets quite warm. Yeah, it does.. I measured it and in ambient of 75 degrees, I found the case to be ~ 95 degrees when measured with a thermocouple. At 95 degress, it really is no worse than the bottom side of many laptops to be honest. Besides. the unit is spec'ed to operate at a junction temperature of over 100 degrees C for the actual chips in the unit.. so there is no way this is any real reliability or safety concern. ... show more
