I contacted the brostrend support people and they guided me through the process of eliminating the problem in my Ubuntu setup. On the second try the driver for their WiFi installed without a hitch. No problems with the device itself, but I hit a snag when installing the driver (on Kubuntu 24.04) - it threw up an error message saying it couldn't write to a directory. It turned out that was because the directory didn't exist. Once I had created it, the install went smoothly. With the driver installed, the device worked perfectly.

Solid wifi adapter. Lacking GOOD linux support. I could have read the instructions, but searching for drivers online is not the most enjoyable thing. Get these drivers up-streamed into the mainline kernel, and the user experience will be much better. Overall, 'satisfied', but not 'wowed' with my purchase.

Ordered product and was excited to get some extra speed. Went to install on raspian, downloaded drivers and everything is working perfect. Plugged in the device and nothing. Checked the logs and it doesn't even get recognized. Checked the packaging and the packaging says for Linux but the device is AX1 and not AX1L. Would love to send it back or get it replaced but it's glazed over without a conversation. I don't even mind keeping it and ordering it again to see if it's the right one but it's a crap shoot.

I bought this for a Windows 10 laptop that I converted to Linux Mint because I couldn't install W11 on it. The original wifi adapter was very slow. This adapter more than tripled the speed and it was very easy to install using the instructions provided. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Though the listing states this USB Wifi is also for Linux-base systems, you will need to go to the Bostrend's site, search and download the drivers, as they aren't shipped with the device. Works beautifully once the drivers are installed for Linux Ubuntu, Mint, etc. OS. You must use an ethernet cable to do this first. Then copy the drivers and install from there. Very happy with the performance. Thanks

Good WIFI adapter for Linux. Initially ran at slow speed for me. This turns out to be an issue with the Realtek drivers defaulting to USB2 mode instead of USB3. Contacted tech support, who were excellent and pointed me to the correct support doc to get it going in USB3 mode.

This says Linux. I have the most recent version of Linux Mint, a popular Linux distribution. I followed instructions and tried work arounds from the net. Nothing could make it work in several machines. I just found it in a bag section of unused stuff.
