This little Bluetooth adapter and caught my laptop to actually accept the Bluetooth connection when multiple devices, multiple software updates and too many hours of troubleshooting did not. Bravo. It is also remarkably resilient, but I do not recommend keeping it plugged into a laptop when you move it. My first one broke after way too many times dropping my backpack with the laptop in it, which of course puts the entire impact on this little plugin device. However the fact that it was able to survive this, not hurt the USB port, and still work a few times makes me give it six stars ... show more

Works great. but after installing the CD that comes with it, it would not recognize my PS4 controller. so I had to uninstall the program and then my PS4 controller connects to the Bluetooth.

I initially wrote a very bad review for this product, and in fact I will keep my bad review here below the "BAD REVIEW BELOW" line. However, I bump the rating up to 3 stars because for some reason, when I upgraded to Windows 11, the issues I was having are all gone. It seems to be genuinely plug-in-play on Windows 11. So what I will say is this thing is decent if you are using Windows 11. If you are using Windows 10, maybe get another one. BAD REVIEW BELOW Hardware-wise, this device is fine. Software-wise, drivers kill it and make it one of the most frustrating dongles I've ever used. No computer recognizes this out of the box, you have to either go to the website or use the CD ROM to download these weird drivers called the CSR Harmony Stack. This is by far some of the worst driver software I've used in my life. If you unplug and plug back in the Bluetooth dongle, either intentionally or on accident if you accidentally bump it, then the software crashes and will not work again UNTIL YOU UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL IT COMPLETELY. Sometimes even then it refuses to work, sometimes it will work but the audio will be atrocious quality as if it is underwater. Randomly, from working fine, to working horribly with bad audio quality, to not working at all, the software will jump between these. I don't know what causes what. I unplugged the dongle since I needed some room for a USB thumb drive for a file transfer, transferred the files and plugged it back in. It refused to work, and I did not feel like uninstalling and installing the driver software again for the 4th time, so I just plugged my headphones in wired. Literally two weeks later the CSR software pops up again fulling working on its own....???? Why?! I did not do anything, it just decides to start working again on its own! Whoever designed this software does not deserve a job. I have looked around for alternative drivers but sadly I cannot find anything except these CSR drivers. The ones they provide on the CD and on their website both are just different versions of the CSR drivers and both give me the same problems. Even though the hardware in the dongle might be fine, the fact it is only compatible with these CSR drivers makes it a frustrating piece of trash that has been such a frustrating nuisance that I genuinely despise this thing. Do not get this. They claim in the description that Windows 10 will install the required drivers automatically. It does not.. You have to use the CSR drivers. Get something plug-in-play that Windows can recognize out the box. ... show more

    • MIGHT NEED SOME TROUBLESHOOTING BEFORE IT WORKS

For some in the reviews, the Bluetooth adapter can be plugged in the USB port and worked soon after with little manual setup. For me, I required some quick troubleshooting because the driver needed to be updated for my Windows 10 PC. Here's what I did: 1) plugged in the Bluetooth adapter. PC recognized it. 2) I inserted the CD ROM with the install software. The CD loaded and I installed everything it needed. After all this, "My Bluetooth Devices" drive in This PC was not letting me add my wireless keyboard. 3) Went to Windows Update and looked for updates. There was an available update for this CSR Bluetooth, I downloaded and installed the update. 4) Restarted computer. 5) On right bottom icon bar, I had to right-click the CRS Bluetooth icon and "Turn Bluetooth Radio On" (I don't know why it wasn't automatically ON). 6) Right-click the CRS Bluetooth icon again and click Add Bluetooth Device, then Keyboard/Mouse. 7) Windows popped up and started looking for discoverable devices right away. It found my keyboard this time but not by its name (usually "K1 Keyboard"), instead it showed "Peripheral Device" with a keyboard icon image. 8) Keyboard worked right away! Semi-Pro: UDS Adapter works as promised (after troubleshooting)! CONS: The Bluetooth adapter came with a CD ROM and a little booklet with setup instructions. I do not think these instructions are modern, they even use a Windows 7 example! This product needs a better setup guide with current Tech support instructions. ... show more
