Really wanted to like these, but both of them only light about a tenth of the time. We've tried turning them up and down, I even refilled them and have topped them off a couple of times but they just are not consistent. When they do light, the flame is fantastic, but they're not great to use for jar candles, we found out, though I'm sure they'd work fine for tapers. They basically burn a hole in the wax next to the wick before the wick gets a chance to light. I don't fault the lighters for that though. We have one of those sparking electronic lighters for the candles that work great. ... show more

I have tried multiple torch lighters and always stayed away from the "pen" type, but now I have the buyer's remorse for not getting this sooner. It's sturdy, easy to fill, has a flame adjustable from just a half inch or so to full jet afterburner, and lasts. I got it for lighting my pipe, which it is great for, but it's perfect for various household needs or handyman-type jobs, like shrinking, melting, or even soldering. Size and shape make it great for hunting or fishing also. If I would change anything it would just be having a waterproof case, as both the lighting element hole and butane fill port are exposed and there is no safety on the slide. I love the window to the butane level so no more guessing if your torch is empty or not. While extremely comfortable and the easiest torch I've ever lit they aren't as durable as I'd hoped they would be. The strength of the flame poops out and they stop working altogether after about 10 refills.
