It has an effective safety switch, although other reviewers say it doesn't. If you turn the dial on the base all the way clockwise, (toward the - symbol) it will not light even if the trigger is pressed. This is the position the torch should be in when stored. To light it, turn the dial counter- clockwise (toward the + symbol) before lighting. The flame will remain on for about a second or two after the trigger is released. Also the flame will self-extinguish after holding the trigger for about 10 seconds. It seems this is by design for safety. Just got these, so time will tell, but they seem perfect for when a strong, compact, 2 inch flame lighter is needed.

This is a small torch lighter that works well. The adjustability is a little awkward, but it works. The flame is nice once adjusted and it is easy to hold. You want a decent size flame, so it lights and really burns. It does not hold a lot of butane, but it is easy to re-fill. The best part is you get two of them for a great price. 4 stars

Great little torch lighter! Much nicer and more heavy duty then I was expecting. Easy to use, slide the button forward and let go to turn off. It has an adjustable flame that can be very small or very big making it versatile. My only complaint is you have to occasionally adjust the flame setting. As it uses the butane the flame gets smaller and smaller until it won't light. You just have to turn up the flame to get it working again. Over all I'm very pleased with this product!

Pros: It takes the default nozzle on butane cans, it actually lighters after a refill, it seems well built, and was a good deal... but... Cons: It must have a very small capacity tank, as it runs out quicker than any lighter that I've owned, it constantly needs readjusting to maintain the flame which is frustrating. Maybe I am being too hard on these guys. I did get what I paid for and they do function

These work well, they do need to be refilled often due to a small capacity of fluid they will hold. The viewing window for fluid level is nice. Been using it for several weeks and had zero trouble with it.

So there is no interlock feature on these to make them child proof, lets get that out of the way. However I needed something easy to use. I have become frustrated with these new lighters that it seems like you need 3 hands to make them operate properly. But with that said my friend who has arthritis loves these she said they were super easy to use. There is no having to slide and hold down one switch while squeezing another switch and hoping you hit them just right to make it light. This has a super simple slide switch that fires a piezo sparker and lights the flame, and you simply hold that one switch for as long as needed. The adjustable flame is pretty simple to set up, and refilling them is just like refilling any other refillable butane product. The fuel window is a bit testy to see in low light but in a bright room it is pretty easy to see and tell how much fuel is left. Now I bought the first set of these over a year ago, I have dropped them, one fell in a stream while camping "not recommended they are not waterproof" It however still lights after it dried off so that is a plus. I tried a few other brands and so far this is the only one that survived being refueled multiple times and the daily rigors of life. I love the fact it is like a small torch and it lights campfires, candles, camp stoves, and most of all my old fashioned charcoal stick hand warmers "If you don't know what that is you are still young" Those things are a little tricky to light with normal lighters but due to the torch like flame this thing makes lighting the charcoal stick pretty easy and it is darn wind resistant as well.

Has a very small tank for the butane. As for the window I've not been able to see anything in the silver or black one. The black one is much easier to use than the silver one. Slides much easier. To have ordered just 3 months ago I know this brand has better torches out there. Unless I just happened to receive a bad one!
