Sturdy and beautiful and easy to install. You do not need a box spring. If you do use one, the headboard can be installed a little higher so the headboard is not hidden by the height of the box spring and mattress. I prefer just mattress since the lower the headboard was installed, the sturdier it felt. The drawers are also very sturdy with a lock in mechanism. Beautiful bed. ... show more
