Got this because my husband built some garden boxes for me. I wanted something that I could use to weed and other things. First off it is really lightweight so when you are going to the way you can pick up and move quickly. It was also pretty comfortable with the pads on it. I also was able to use it flipped over, and my knees were so grateful. I also like how when it is flipped over you can use the sides to help you get back up again, just a side note- make sure when you are using the side to get up, that your hands are in the middle, because if they are on either side the seat is off balance and will flip over. I also like how it has pockets, as it was great to have all my tools together, I had a little shovel and a weed knife that fit nicely. I did notice that the paint rubbed off as I was using it on rocks, but it didn't affect the way it worked. This was a great buy, and it will be something that i will use often. ... show more

I love to garden but as I age I have trouble getting up and down. I saw this kneeler and jumped at it. There was no assembly required, simply unfold and it is ready to use. The side pockets can be attached to hold your favorite tools. I holds my weight 200 plus a little with no problems and feels very secure. I have decided I actually like it as a stool better. I like that it is easy to use as a stool or a kneeler. The foam pad was easy to wash off. This is going to get a lot of use this spring! ... show more

I have purchased several of these garden kneelers since 2015. I have had knee issues for some time and have had both knees replaced. I enjoy gardening and home improvement projects which often require me to get down to ground level. This type of garden kneeler has been indispensable to me so I keep 2-3 at different locations around my house for convenience. I use them all the time for a variety of purposes and using the handles to get up or down has been essential to continuing to work outside. I use the stool option when working with planters and for painting, repairs and other home improvement projects. When searching for kneelers, you'll find several options - all using the base kneeler with various pouches and accessories that differentiate the products and prices. This particular kneeler has the same base kneeler with larger EVA foam pads. This "upgrade" provides no additional benefit in my view as there is no support under the wider foam so I wouldn't pay more for this feature. The width of the support is the same as the non-upgraded versions. Please see the attached photo showing both versions. Whether sitting or kneeling, the smaller pads of the standard kneeler is equally functional. The product description suggests the kneeler will hold up to 300 pounds. It probably will - for a while. All of these kneelers use a honeycomb pattern plastic as support between the two EVA foam pads. I am slightly over 200 pounds and through moderate use have broken through the honeycomb support structures of two kneelers. I have repaired these by carefully removing the foam pads and replacing the damaged support with treated 2x6 lumber and using silicon glue/caulk to reattach the pads. Also, when getting up and down, the arms can be inadvertently spread wider. I have found that over time, the repeated bending will lead to failure of the welds of the arms to the support structure so be careful to not push the arms too much past vertical. I had occasion to reach out to the seller to address an issue and found them to be very responsive. I got this to replace a garden kneeler like this that I had been using for over a decade. After that many seasons, it developed enough rust, I thought I’d just replace it rather than spend a day trying to clean it up and refurbish it. My mistake. They don’t make tools like they used to. The materials used for this one are much cheaper. I have no idea what the “upgraded” label refers to. The hinges are not as strong and the mechanism does not feel as smooth. The padding is cheaper — i doubt it will last a decade. The side pouches are made from throw away fabric. Regardless, they’re pretty useless… if you turn this bench over more than once — to kneel on, then sit on — you’ll find that you can’t be hanging open pockets off it because everything just falls out! ... show more

    • Comfortable and convenient pockets to store tools
This is a new must have in my gardening arsenal. As a 40-something plus size gardener it was getting harder go get up and down when gardening my beds and this made things so much easier. I was afraid the supporting bars would dig into my knees as I kneeled on them and while I can feel they are there the padding is sufficient to make it comfortable. In the seated position it is very sturdy, but when I use the bars to pull myself from the kneeling position it is a bit wobbly. Not enough to affect balance but it makes have some concerns about future durability. Oddly enough the pockets are one of my favorite parts, not longer am I searching for 5 minutes 20 times a gardening session trying to figure out where I put my clippers at. I’m loving this garden kneeler and seat. It enable me to work longer in my yard. It allowed me to sit and work as well and get close to the dirt comfortably. I especially needed the sturdy hand rails to assist me to my feet again (having multiple surgeries on my legs).
