The extra-thick high-density foam provides excellent cushioning and does a great job taking pressure off your knees on hard surfaces. Gorilla Grip rates it at about 1.3 inches thick with high shock absorbency, and it definitely feels substantial under load. The foam quality feels much better than the cheap thin kneeling pads that flatten out quickly. This one stays supportive, keeps its shape, and has a durable textured surface that resists slipping. It’s also dirt and water resistant, which makes it useful for gardening, garage work, exercise, plumbing, or any floor task. A lot of users in tool and work communities also prefer the thicker closed-cell foam style over bargain pads because they simply hold up better and stay comfortable longer during repeated kneeling sessions. This pad is thick and sturdy. At first I was afraid it would be too stiff to cushion my knees, but when I tried it, it had just the right amount of give. I was using a thin yoga-kneeler, and this is lots better. Easy on my knees!

This pad is very thick and very firm. I read about the firmness in other reviews and they were correct. Haven't actually used it yet since it's still winter, but I anticipate it coming in handy come spring when I get back to outside chores. Glad I bought it. The orange will stand out so it won't get lost amidst all of my other gardening items. I really like all of the Gorilla products I have purchased since they are all high quality products.

I purchased this kneeling pad for my son, who has had knee surgeries in the past and needs extra cushioning for floor exercises. Unfortunately, this pad is EXTREMELY HARD! It has almost no give, so it feels very similar to working directly on the floor. The size and appearance are fine, but if you’re looking for a kneeling pad that actually provides comfort and cushion for sensitive knees, this isn’t the best choice. It may work for someone who prefers a very firm surface, but it didn’t provide the cushioning we were hoping for
