While the final product seems to be as expected, it was a nightmare from the start. We purchased this fireplace to be used in a custom entertainment center being built. The box arrived and was mangled slightly and we could see the parts inside along with all the broken cheap styrofoam. It didn't appear that the unit was damaged so we moved forward with our project and we were not ready to install yet so it sat in garage waiting. When my husband and the contractor finally got it out of the torn up box and unpackaged the rest of the way, the darn framing was bent (you can see it in the first two pictures). Now I guess we could have sent it back if we had a box that could have been used but nope the cheap cardboard box would not have been reusable. My husband spent a good amount of time over the weekend working to straighten it out using heavy duty clamps so they could install it. It helped for the most part and while it looks nice finished, it is aggravating paying this much for a product and then have to bend it back in shape. Packaging needs to be better! Installation was another matter in and of itself...for this price we shouldn't have to take pieces apart to install stuff or put the product together. It wasn't as easy as the instruction book made it out to be. Not sure if we would recommend this product today after all this frustration. Will see how it works when time to turn it on. ... show more

We just installed one. Installation was part of a rec room remodel. Recommend mount on 2x6 framing. We finished with wall tile. Works well. Adds room ambiance. Tips: * Two-man job to carry unit from shipping crate. Two-man job to mount. Unit out of the box weighs about 100 lbs * Direct connect on own electric circuit. We hired an electrician to run new circuit to electrical junction box * Comes with small trim kit. Did not need to buy larger trim kit * To install, you will handle two pieces of glass: A reflective mirror and panel glass. We used three people to install with care. Can be done with two people * We tested the heater and electronics before final installation of glass...just in case. * Choose 220V if you want higher wattage. 1500 Watt/110V was fine for us. Small gripes: * Remote control is missing a CR2032 battery. Amazing that Dimplex sells a several thousand dollar unit and manufacturer chooses to omit a battery not likely in the customer's battery drawer. No mention battery no included. Amazingly cheap decision. * Remote control should default to a smartphone device. Missing this choice, so design is dated. ... show more

For supposedly being the Ferrari of electric fireplaces this has got to be the worst purchase I have ever made. My contractor has already built the wall for this unit and we are now on our 4th unit because the first was cracked and the other 2 had scratches and chips all over the front face trim and dimplex can not replace that part because they don't have it. I have never been so frustrated with a purchase in my life. If my wall was not already built I would buy another fireplace brand altogether. I can not say this any louder but DO NO BUY THIS! Unless you don't care that you spend over $2000 to have the front of your fireplace that is the most visible looks like someone took a rock or something metal and decided to rub it all over the frame. This is easily the worst product that I have ever purchase especially considering the price. I wish there was a negative stars I could put because 1 star does not represent the amount of frustration we have experienced from this. We are now 2 months past when our contractor was supposed to be done with his work but he can't finish because of this fireplace. ... show more

Great product very nice accent for our media room. Easy to install. Fireplace arrived late but AMS (seller) was apologetic and helpful when the side panel of the shipping carton was torn. The media could not be loaded. This fireplace is beautiful. I removed my wood burner dor something clean and easy. Several colors to pick from. High heat output but a weak fan. I doubt it can heat 1000sqf as advertised. I just hope it lasts a long time without issues. Update: control panel needs replaced and so far customer service is excellent. Needs replaced because when its off 2 lights stay on in the bed. ... show more

We LOVE this! We remodeled our new home and wanted a fireplace in kitchen and in the bedroom on other side of same wall. The flames are beautiful and seem to mesmerize our guests! It’s always a show stopper and the fact you can use in all seasons is bonus! Love this fireplace, it realistic enough, easy to install and flame pattern is better than modern flames model. Flame appears to me in middle of media rock. Modern flame is noticeably on the back wall. I’m glad I made this choice and five year warranty is best out of any other models.
