    • Absolutely worked and pay itself off
Color: Mechanical Claw
If you are a ham, you gone to love this, don’t loos the zip tie that came with it because is reusable and sturdy. Don’t assembly on a rush or around kids or pets as it’s made with cheap lightest plastic and it I’ll brake. When you close it it will hold. It takes couple of seconds to released. Don’t brake the 1 inch antenna mounted on the on and off bottom located on the claw itself, it’s almost invisible however, if you want to install that dipole or get over a tree and get a rope without paying thousands. This will definetly do the job, 100% Don’t wait till field day or any other mayor thing to try tonoutbgings together, the zip tie will help keep the load balanced and it’s not replaceable with him depot zip ties. If you fly jerky and fast you will cash your drone, nice steady and slow will get you to release without braking blades and fakery. Don’t assemble near pets kids cats or anything cutouts because it will brake. Besides that it did its job 15 times. Haven’t used yet, but seems functional, very plasticky, made in the Peoples Republic so it’s Chinesium. Just like a claw yaw at the stuff animal machine heavier side for being small. So far shows promising to get lines between trees and get out. If it works for over a month I’ll bumped to 5 starts bust at least on the ground may work. May require another person to activate as the main operator have to compensate for weigh deviation. More to come ... show more

A lot of fun. Be careful if drone has obstacle avoidance not to interfere with it

    • Acceptable.
Color: Mechanical Claw
This gadget, which I am calling a grappling hook, but which the manufacturer calls an airdrop system is, indeed, much more suited for dropping than for grappling. I bought it in hopes of being able to grab and remove bird's nests from the roof of my two-story house, too high for me to get up onto. I have a DJI Mini 4K drone, one of the drones the device is supposed to be compatible with. It works more or less, but the DJI Mini 4K, which alone is extremely stable, becomes rather unstable with the grappling hook attached. It will sometimes climb, and sometimes descend, and sometimes move horizontally even when I am not touching the control sticks. I speculate that this is because the hook attaches to the drone with a strap around its middle which may throw it out of trim, and that the hook itself may confuse the drone's camera-based stabilization system. After several tries I had to give up trying to grab the nest with the hook. The best I could do was drop an old shoe on the nest in hopes that the birds will abandon the nest and go elsewhere. In fairness, they do call it an airdrop system and not a grappling hook. Still, lack of stability is an issue. The device basically works as advertised, but loses one star for making the drone unstable and therefore much harder to control. The grappling hook has a built-in rechargeable battery, but the remote uses a regular 9-volt battery. The remote also has confusing switches: The on-off switch has meaningless labels. (Up is On and Down is Off) and the controls for the hook say "ON" and "OFF" rather than "Open" and "Close" and this is also confusing. I've subtracted one star for the overall poor design of the remote. Overall I rate it acceptable. Three stars. It might work better with a bigger, more powerful drone. ... show more

    • Worked perfectly for hanging Christmas lights!
Color: Mechanical Claw
I recently purchased this airdrop system for my DJI Mini 4 Pro, specifically to help with hanging Christmas lights on high trees around my property. I am honestly impressed with how well it performed. The installation was straightforward and didn't interfere with the drone's sensors or flight stability. It fits the Mini 4 Pro perfectly. For my specific use case, it was a game-changer. Instead of risking a ladder on uneven ground, I was able to lift the strands of lights and release them exactly where I needed them on the branches. The release mechanism is responsive and reliable. Pros: Precision: Allows for accurate placement of items (in my case, light strands). Fit: Snaps onto the Mini 4 Pro securely without adding too much weight. Ease of Use: Simple to operate; the trigger mechanism worked every time. If you are looking for a creative way to decorate for the holidays or just need a reliable payload release for your Mini 4 Pro, I highly recommend this system. It turned a dangerous, all-day chore into a fun and quick task! ... show more

    • Product is defective from get go. Smacks of poor quality control! Made in China.

I just unpacked the claw and tried to operate it. Blue light flashing on claw, but Remote does not work, even with a different brand new 9 V battery. Smacks of poor quality control. Low confidence in manufacturer’s competence. Instructions are (politely described) “minimalist”. Cheesy packaging suggests cheesy manufacturing process. I am returning product promptly. I also noticed that all the other vendors on Amazon have exactly same remote and claw design. ... show more
