Avatar Goggles X Recently I acquired a set of the Avatar Goggles X. I had always been curious of the Walksnail system but used HDzero for whoops and small aircraft for short range and DJI 04 for my larger aircraft for higher speed and long range. Previously I had purchased and continue to use Caddx Vista air units which were a monumental leap forward for small HD aircraft at the time and I have received such good customer service directly from Caddx. This great Customer Service and the very limited availability of DJI now and in the foreseeable future in the US make the Walksnail system very appealing to me. Features and Inspection – The quality of manufacture, fit and finish is absolutely beautiful. The design is very streamlined and the LEDs add a futuristic edge. The diopter adjustment is simple and a great feature for those of us needing correction. The only issue I have had with the goggles is more with my face/head shape. I have a narrow European face and the rubber gasket does not provide a good seal to my face around the sides and bottom. I have found aftermarket foam seals for all my other goggles and the Goggles X to remedy this to my face shape. It would be nice if Caddx would supply another face gasket with the goggles to better fit a narrow face design – hope Caddx is listening? Performance – In use, these goggles work flawlessly. Caddx has continued to improve the goggles since the introduction and now has created a first rate product. Great resolution, clarity, and latency. Amazing range potential, light weight and comfortable for long flights. Final Thoughts – If I was transitioning from analog for a HD system, or just getting into the hobby, the Walksnail system would be my first choice. There are small boards/cameras for light weight aircraft, and larger ones for larger longrange aircraft. This product line is also greatly embraced and supported by all the major drone suppliers and combined with Caddx proven customer support makes the Walksnail system unbeatable! ... show more

  • The best Goggles for Fpv Flight
If you’re looking for a solid set of HD FPV goggles, the Goggles X are a really good choice. They’re noticeably more comfortable than the Goggles L, and the picture quality is sharp and clear even in lower light. I used them with head tracking while flying an RC plane - it was incredible. The IPD adjustment is especially nice; it’s easy to dial in and makes a big difference in getting a clear, comfortable view. The extra features like HDMI and head tracking are also great to have, and the whole system just feels more modern. The image is immersive, latency is low, and a lot of fun to fly with. I highly recommend these especially if you’re already in the Walksnail ecosystem or looking for a strong digital option. ... show more

  • Walksnail Goggles X review
Most people after the DJI ban have really been looking for alternative options that still work reliably with proper range and quality. This convinced me to buy the Walksnail goggles X and the Walksnail GT combo which is the best combo for range and penetration out there. As a fpv drone pilot that flies long range FPV I can confirm with you that the goggles are very well built. The packaging is super professional especially for a small enterprise such as Walksnail. They have a super convenient cable that can connect to any normal xt60 battery and supply me with up to 7 hours of battery feed with a 4s li ion. When you power the drone on for the first time they have proper instructions on how to set the focus and width to properly fit your face and eye shape. Pairing is super easy and consistently works with other walksnail vtx’s without any issues. PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO UPDATE ALL YOUR DEVICES TO THE SAME FIRMWARE VERSION. This was a mistake I made and resulted in me not getting any visual signals and just the OSD. My only concern is the fact that the factory goggles foam doesn't fit most people so replace them as soon as you get them. Overall these goggles are a WORTHY competitor of the dji o3/o4 even with the lower price tag. In some instances the brighter screen and more consistent image quality feels better than the dji system. Paired with the Walksnail GT kit this monster combo can give you ultimate penetration and range even with the stock antennas. Probably the best FPV buy I have done!!! ... show more

  • Almost perfect
Everything about these goggles are what they should be expect the IPD my eyes are too close together so I can’t make the two images look like one even if they are as close as possible. However it does clear up after I start flying the illusion works when it’s showing an actual image. They are surprisingly energetic efficient. Easy to operate worth every dollar at this current sale fit comfortably on the face and are not super heavy. Pretty tough I have yet to find a way to scratch them ... show more

  • Liquidated, damaged and defective units
Something is very off about these goggles, they don’t focus, slip out of focus, have warped and barely legible screen edges. Oh and they’re also defective. The proximity sensor doesn’t work and once you take the sticker off of it as instructed, they just go black... Whether you’re wearing them or not. Weirdly, even putting your finger over the sensor doesn’t work. So either keep the sticker on and accept that you probably paid for a broken item and you can never pull the sticker off to find out for sure, or glue a mirror or a ball of playdough to your forehead to try to activate the sensor so the screen will actually turn on. Caddx refused to exchange this defective brick for a working unit and informed me I’d have to return these for a refund, wait up to 30 days for the refund, potentially pay a restocking fee, and then order a new pair from them for $44 more than I originally paid. Supposedly issuing a working replacement was impossible because they were out of stock, despite having a live listing for the item with no low inventory notifications. So they drop the price, ship broken trash, then raise the price and refuse to provide exchanges. It’s a mess, which maybe explains why they’re $100-$150 cheaper here than anywhere else. From my searches, I found that caddx has a history of shipping units with defective proximity sensors stretching back over a year at least. I think the ones listed here are liquidated items, defectives, rejects and factory seconds (items with minor defects that can’t be sold at full price.) I would not recommend these to anyone because I don’t believe customers should have to (at minimum) troubleshoot products right out of the box. Update: After a protracted conversation, Amazon intervened on my behalf and got me a replacement pair. All I wanted was to pay a fair price for an item that works as described. In speaking with others who have gone through caddx for a fix or replacement, I have been told it often takes months to happen if it happens at all. Also, stay away from their listings for the Gofilm 20 drone for the same reasons. ... show more

  • Highly recommend these goggles.
I'm fairly new to FPV. I've been using Caddx Goggle L for about 6 months now, and really like them. They can't be beat at that price point. BUT... a few weeks ago one of my friends let me try his Goggles X. Wow. I was instantly jealous. I finally got around to ordering a set for myself. I'm a little slow at this stuff, but it only took me about an hour to get the firmware updated on everything so the Goggles X and my 3 Caddx VTX's were all bound together, and had the same firmware. That's very important. Then I had to adjust the lenses to match my poor eyes, which is where I had some trouble. I couldn't seem to get the bottom corners of the screen visible no matter what I did. I hadn't had any trouble seeing the entire screen when I tried my friends Goggles X. It turns out he had the other optional, small foam pad on his Goggles X. I went flying with them yesterday with my friend who was using the stock foam pad. He said he had no trouble seeing the whole screen. My other friend, who let me use his goggles, was using the optional small foam pad. So I took the pad off my Goggles L and put it on my new Goggles X. The two pads are very similar. Now I can see the entire screen just fine. I ordered the small pad from Caddx because it should fit better than the one from my Goggles L. Bottom line - these are great goggles, but the stock foam pad may not fit your face. If not, get the small pad from Caddx. I wish they had provided both in the box to start with, but I still highly recommend these goggles. ... show more

  • Astigmatism be aware
I’ve used box goggles for years and figured I would treat myself to these Walksnail goggles. I’ve done a bunch of research on hd systems and goggles, which these check all the boxes for me. Not a fan of how pricey the vtx/camera units are and wished there was more competition in this space. I digress, so back to the goggles. I was having trouble getting these calibrated for my vision and no matter what I had double vision. Come to find out if you have Astigmatism, there are no corrections for this besides having custom cut optics done. I never had issues with box goggles, so I assumed I wouldn’t have issues. Custom cut optics are running about $80 + tariffs + taxes + shipping… so if you have eye issues like this, just be aware you will need to spend an extra $140 on optic inserts. The fit, well they are designed for a flatter face. So you will need to buy new goggle padding. The strap that is shipped with these…. Absolutely garbage. The velcro on them don’t stay together and your goggles will fall off your face. I’ll be returning mine. ... show more

  • Good headset need more cameras now
The quality when you’re looking through them is mind-boggling really good. There are a lot of options as well as 5.8 Support - that is not as built-in as they say so don’t go for that. Also, when you do do 5.8 for them it’s sort of patched together looking. Overall, I am very happy with them.
