Update Dec 18: Wish I would have gone with Skydio. DJI is awful. Why I need to spend extra $300 and break my warranty to fly as I want to fly??? Skydio can do that, with same imagine quality and better tracking. Update July 12: Today this drone failed again. Iโ€™ve update the app itself, tested home, was working fine. Took it into the field and adter flying for 90sec the drone started landing in the middle of nothing because the zone wasnt unlocked. But I could not unlock it. I managed to bring down safe and after 10 mind I figured out I need to re validate my phone number before unlocking after installing the update. Also reseted my all other settings too. Since it can be on for 30 min, spending 10 min with figuring this out left me with 15min flying time. Totally unreliable. Range btw is more like 500 ft vs 5-6 miles (everywhere I tried). In open field w no trees or obstacles can go max 700 ft. Amazing engineering embeded in an awful product. Biggest $1000 mistake I ever made. You can legally own machine gun in U.S. however this drone decides in it's own where can I fly and I cannot on what altitude. The "FlySafe" feature works a little too aggressive regarding where can I fly and where can I not which makes in many cases very expensive paper weight. Too many limitations, too features that you cannot disable (e.g. annoying beeping of the controller or warning sounds - I have eyes to see on screen if there is a danger I don't need 100 db loud beeps. Auto exposure on this is also a hit or miss. Otherwise nice drone, great picture and video quality. Be aware that for 10 bit D LOG or HLG H.256 you need a beast machine to work with. My Macbook Pro really struggles decoding it real time in Final Cut. I am still debating if I am going to keep it or not. Also it drops connection w aircraft from 5 bars to nothing without interm notifications. I am not sure whats the hype around this. ... show more

I initially wrote a first review, but I don't know where it went. I rated it low because one battery was DOA. So, it is an awesome Drone if you can get over the electrical problems. After installing the app, it began updating FIRMWARE. I read the instructions and began to use the Drone. The first thing I noticed was that one battery did not shut the Drone off like normal. I tried to do an emergency power off by turning the drone upside down, but no luck. It holds a charge, but gives many errors in the app, such as "bad cell", and "return to home" battery low. OK, so I figured that was a fluke. But then I began to notice that the controller appeared to not charge. This was confirmed on day three when I got the message that the battery was low on the controller despite me plugging it in earlier in the day. So I plugged in the controller again using the supplied charger. Good thing I didn't go too far, because after about 2 minutes, I began to smell an odor that smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately pulled the plug and it was way too hot to touch. The area where you plug the controller into the charger was extremely hot as well. I am going to return this. I really liked this, but I do not like such problems within 3 days of opening the box. ... show more

The item I received had been previously opened and re-taped shut. I noticed immediately that the memory card was missing, I did not inventory everything else so Iโ€™m not sure what else may be missing from the package. After downloading the DJI FLY app to my phone I found that the drone would not maintain connection to the remote. About 95% of the time the remote will not even find the aircraft, and when it finally does connect it only maintains the connection for approximately one minuteโ€ฆ giving a black screen. Tried reinstalling the firmware on both the drone and the remote control using DJIโ€™s consumer drone app. No improvement. After being very excited to receive the new drone this is very frustrating. Someone has obviously returned this item for this problem prior to me, and somehow it has been sold again. I hope this defective item does not wind up being sold AGAIN to another person who will be sorely disappointed after spending this much on their drone. Itโ€™s not cheap and now I have to wait for shipping time and for the refund to process in order to buy another one that works. Edit** I have since the last review purchased this same drone from Best Buy as I was nervous about spending this much from Amazon and possibly receiving another used/opened/damaged product again. And I REALLY wanted to have the functional drone as soon as possible. My package from the other store arrived unopened and completely functional. An unopened box for a DJI drone is shrink wrapped and has little pieces of security tape all over the drones body that you have to remove before use. Set up was easy and fast and it has awesome range and the picture quality is FANTASTIC. Even in low light evenings and mornings. Iโ€™ve put about 20 hours of flight time on this drone in the last week or so, and I absolutely love it. No issues whatsoever and I would recommend this drone to anyone. Buy the fly-more package so you have the extra batteries. Well worth it. Flight time is about 30 minutes so with all three batteries youโ€™ve got over an hour of flying time. ... show more
