I have a few coolaroo shades and one of them is used much more than the others. The pull/spin ring snapped on one particular shade. The shade is about 8 years old and he’s held up fine. After contacting coolaroo for a replacement part we found a cheaper and quicker alternative here in amazon. The biggest difference besides price and delivery time is the metal pull/spin ring. The OEM is a hard polymer that did age over time: hot summers and brittle winters sped up the process. This replacement part is metal and is absolutely stronger and shows no sign of rust after a whole summer in the elements. We are very impressed. Had we gone w/ the OEM replacement part we would probably still be waiting for it to be delivered. Such an easy process here. ... show more
