When I got this camera, I made a bracket to mount right above my Reese hitch on my truck tucked right up under the bumper. I tapped into the reverse lights on my trailer harness so the camera only powers on when my truck is in reverse. When I first got it hooked up I was really happy with the picture I was getting and really thought it was a score for an in-expensive backup camera. Then came night time. When I was backing up at night all I was getting was a white image like someone was shining a light right into the camera. So the night image was useless. I was going to send the camera back and try a different one, but I decided to see if I could fix the one I had first. The light was coming from the IR when it came on at night, it was reflecting off the inside of the glass and right back into the camera. There is supposed to be a little piece of foam to isolate the IR from the camera, but it didn't actually go all the way to the glass. So I took it apart and re-cut some foam and double sided tape to get the two isolated again. After putting it all back together it works great both day and night. I give it three stars because this is a very simple problem that should not be an issue coming from the factory. ... show more

These items are horrible. They don't last. I've bought four of these things, and three of them have failed. They've got a life expectancy of about six months, and then something goes wrong with the infrared sensor and it keeps switching from day to night to day (in the dark), that simulates a "strobe-light" effect. I tried contacting the manufacturer, but was told they only had a 30-DAY warranty. Really? That's ludicrous. If my system (in-car baby-monitoring system) wasn't designed around these bullet cameras, I'd never buy anything from Pyle again. ... show more

I had it professionally installed. nice wide view. I need it as I put it on a FJ cruiser that has plenty of blind spots. I had to drill through the bumper with the enclosed drill bit. The hole is about 2\4 inch. if you buy it figure out where to drill the hole first!!

Installed on the rear of a corvette. Not too bad. Picture is a little washed out (ie it's not a hi def camera or anything crazy). Seems like the night image is a bit weak but I haven't seen anyone else's camera at night to compare. If you're in a dim lit or more parking lot it's not too bad. Not sure if I knew but it does have the red/yellow/green grid which is neat. ... show more

Camera housing is great. All metal construction. During day time camera works OK. At night reflection from IR LED completely sacurate camera and most you can see is white on the screen. There is no provision to turn off IR LED's. Crown saw is junk. It is welded crooked and made of some junk steel. I bought 2 cameras and I got two crown saws and both of them are junk. If you are drilling metal do not even try to use them. It will only scratch big circle, bigger then camera flange. Use step drill instead. ... show more
