  • Pass this up and you might need to have your head examened
I have seen a couple of negative reviews on here and frankly I do not know why. I did a "custom" install on mine. (I used to work for MOTOROLA ) doing phone and radio install. So I had a real good idea of what I was going to do. Mine went on a 2017 JEEP (now m ind you this was a a custom job) I removed the spare, took off the back of the raised tail light, I then dissembled the rear vent covers and wire track that JEEP used to run wire through. I then removed the carpet along the edges and ran the main cable. In order to put the back camera on I did drill a 1/2 inch hole in the top of the stop light mount and installed a plastic plug that is made to run wires through. I then drilled another 1/2 inch hole behind the tire and dropped the cable into the door. There is a wire loom that already exists behind the plastic panel you already removed. Finally I pulled up the corner of the hard plastic panel and also pulled back the carper on the passenger side. NOW while all this sound difficult the total time required was 15 minutes! To me since I am crippled the hardest part was, putting the wheel back on the holder! Now all you have to do is run the cable under the carpet to the front of the car. NOW 1 ting to consider is that for a shorter car like a JEEP WRANGLER 4 door the total cable run is 14 feet BUT they supply you with 48 feet of cable. So you need to decide where to put the extra cable. All I did was roll it up into about a 30 inch look and stick it under the rear carper (since this is the least used area of a car it is usually the best to store cables) OK now comes the next decision WHERE do I want to mount it? WELL I have a dished out area in the center of my upper dash and it so worked out that the mount is exactly the right length to go there. OK how do I get the wires up there??? That is a simple thing. after pulling the wires along the carpet I just removed the glove box by squeezing the tabs on each side and it popped out. Now again in the center of the "dash pocket" where I wanted to mount the monitor was just as easy. FIRST thing is to remove the side of the dash that you want to run the wires. Real simple these days almost all dashes panels are held in with clips that you can easily pull the dash back toward you and it will pop off. Now where you have it loose (you do not need to remove the entire dash panel. pull back on the dash and mark where you want the 1 video wire to come up and what I did was drill a 3/8 hole very close to the lighter so I could push the power wire through the dash and still plug in the supply lighter cord. The rest was even more easy connect all the cords together - they are all different and only fit 1 way. Turn the key to accessory and make sure the power cord id plugged in and it is turned on (if you do not see a picture push the red button on the end of the plug it might not be turned on. If it is glowing red and you have a picture on your dash you have done it all correct. button everything back together and reinstall the glove box and you are done. OK so there is a lot of words here and it sounds difficult well let me let you in on a secrete - my right arm was blown off in Vietnam and I do not use my mechanical arm when working on electrical or automotive things for safety reasons. The total time - even for a beginner who has never touched a tool in their life is about 90 minutes. You do not even need anything but a straight slot screw driver and a phillips to install all of this. It is straight forward and EVERYTHING you need even the screws are included with the kit. Now there in one extra thing I do since I was taught 60 plus years ago by my father who was a mechanic. I did use black electrical tape around each connection 1) it keeps out and dirt or water 2) it holds the connections solid in case in 40 or 50 years they rattle loose. Just an old habit but for 99 cents at the hardware store it is a cheap enough safety step. If you have ANY questions they do have a customer service number you can call for free and they are right on top of giving you an answer. I tried it just because I wanted to know if they could really help if I needed anything and they are there and answer questions right now you do not have to wait. (also a little secrete is to look in their instruction manual there is a choice of free gift's they will send you just for buying from them something not listed on AMAZON) ... show more

  • Works
Good little camera setup. I was concerned about going wireless with a 34 ft camper and not having connection issues to the truck. This worked great. Only reason I took a star off was it came with a single wire to go from camera to truck first not being long enough which is fine because I guess not all campers are this long. But the big thing that didn't make sense to me was the single wire. So no way to bridge between the truck and the camper. You have to buy more cables. I ended up going the route of making my own cables for most of the run. They don't share it anywhere in their descriptions or anything but the connection the cable uses is a GX12 aviation connector for anyone interested in making their own cables or putting a panel mount on the truck side to keep it clean without a loose wire hanging off the back of the truck. All in all was well worth it. ... show more

  • Clear Picture
We bought this camera to use as a backup camera with our camper. It was a little work for my husband to install, but it works perfectly and has the clearest picture we’ve ever seen — even clearer than the stock backup camera on our Ram truck. Since this unit has two channels, we added a second camera on the bumper of the truck. We can switch between the two channels and keep and eye on the hitch and smoothly back into our campsite. We love it! ... show more

  • As Advertised, High Resolution Solution
This camera is a great peace of mind when backing up. Originally be had planned on mounting low by the license plate, but we decided to mount it up high above the rear door to our box truck. Camera seems well made and has been performing well. We have it wired up through the cabin so it is always ready for use. Just press the red button on the power input (cigarette lighter) and the camera image appears on the high resolution screen! We love this product for backing up in busy neighborhoods or when pulling down tight alleyways or streets around town. We would recommend this camera set-up for anyone in a similar situation. As advertised and well made! ... show more

  • UTV rear view camera - would recommend
I have only had this installed for a week but has been useful and for the price a good value. I have a UTV that has a cargo cage (Kubota XG850) between the passenger portion and back/bed. Looking through a rear view mirror through that is not very easy and I needed something to help when backing up to dump the bed with material in it.... and this did the trick. Mounted the screen in place of the rear view mirror... and the camera at the top of the cargo cage facing back and when driving I have it on so the screen gives me a clear rear view. Unit allows switching picture to various modes so I mounted the screen up side down and flipped the picture. For the price even if it only works for a year it is worth it. Plenty of wire provided. Worried a bit the screen isn't weather proof but under the roof so taking my chances. Would recommend. Haven't used at night yet but daytime use has been good. ... show more
