  • Works well.
We use it in our motorhome and the connections went smoothly. I actually mounted the camera inside the back window and connected it to a USB port so no drilling or extra wiring through the body of the motorhome. It has a good picture but the reflection on the window glass at night makes it unusable but we rarely drive at night so it’s not a problem or a defect. ... show more

  • Nice functional product, great customer support
Bought this for my son and installed on his 2014 Ford Fusion. Installation was fairly easy, did involve some disassembly of the truck lid inside cover to access the tail light and wiring. Used wire splice clips which made tapping into the back up light power wire easy. Camera functions well, although there is a slight lag time for the picture to come up. My son is very happy with it given that his parking area at his apt is very tight and this allows him to maneuver much better! ... show more

  • Good Product but No Adapter to Power from Fuse Box
I like this camera system. The wireless connection solved some concerns for installation. I would give it a high 4 stars close to 5 as it is good for the price (especially with a $30 Amazon Coupon). I think the image is reasonable for an inexpensive system and it provides enough image for backing up safely. The night image is good enough too (black and white). However, the description states the monitor can be powered by a fuse box. I'm sure it can but the manufacturer does nothing to make that reasonable. The only power you can get is from a cigarette lighter adapter. The manufacturer does not provide a connector with any tinned wires or other means to connect to a fuse box or anywhere else and the plug to the monitor is tiny and non-standard so you can't simply try to make one yourself. You would have to cut the cord from the cigarette lighter adapter then figure out which tiny wire you need to connect to power and ground. No help from the manufacturer there either. And hopefully there aren't any other wires that you mess up because it uses a four-pin connector. Not wanting to risk that I'd damage the thing, I simply am plugging it in with it's far oversized cable. I now notice that another buyer mentions the same thing in a video he posted. Seems like he will gamble and cut the power cord then wire it in. Hopefully he provides some feedback about his experience. While I won't go so far as to call the description for this device as deceptive, it is careless and should provide more details. UPDATE: I received a response from the manufacturer to my review. They indicate they will improve their instructions in the future. In the meantime this is what I was told: "After cutting off the cigarette lighter adapter, you will see one red wire and one black wire, then connect the red wire to the accessory power fuse and the black wire to the ground. Cutting off the adapter does not invalidate the warranty. " Hope this helps anyone who wants to hardwire the display to a power source at the fuse box. There certainly is enough cable. As a result I've upgraded my rating to a solid four stars. The camera is working fine. ... show more

  • Excellent Backup Camera
It took me almost 7 months before writing this review to thoroughly test this product. I found it to be excellent, and the screen quality is sharp. Previously, I had another backup camera that would stop working in very cold temperatures, but this one has performed perfectly in all temperature conditions. I highly recommend it without hesitation. ... show more

  • Easy install and good backup visibility for a reasonable price
I bought one for my 2006 Ford Ranger, to replace another third-party camera system that had died. Installing the camera was dead simple, and the wireless connection with the monitor, also. I didn't like having the power cord plugged into the lighter socket, so I patched it into the fuse box, to be energized only when the ignition was on. I attached the monitor to the windshield, just above the dash. That worked so well, I bought another for my 2014 Fusion. The Fusion was harder, because of the design of the car's taillight housing. To get at the backup light wires, I had to pull back the lining under the trunk lid, which was a pain. Then, identifying the correct wires was hard, because there was no obvious color coding. That part required a multimeter. The provided quick-connect clips made joining the wires easier than soldering, but once I had it working, I discovered that the camera only worked as long as my headlights were off. That turned out to be caused by an insufficient ground attachment. I found some metal near the backup light that I could drill into and use a sheet-metal screw to secure the ground, and after that, it worked perfectly. My hopes of tapping into the fuse box on the Fusion evaporated once I discovered how inaccessible Ford had made the fuse box. So instead, I ran the power cord under various bits of dash and console molding and plugged it into the power outlet inside the console storage compartment. The monitor was a challenge, because the windshield is too far forward, and the dash itself not flat enough to secure the suction cup. I purchased a Dashboard Pad Mounting Disk (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072VGDDC8), and that worked great for mounting the monitor in a good location on the dash. Overall, it's a modest unit, not very large and not too expensive. But a great purchase, and I'd buy it again. Customer service was very helpful. Highly recommended. ... show more
