I would highly recommend this camera as a replacement for a factory camera that is damaged or for installing a camera in an older vehicle. This camera has worked extremely well for my '99 F350 Power stroke. I had to install a double din with input for the reverse camera, run the video wire along the frame and hook the power line into the reverse light power so install is heavily dependant on your skill level (especially if you never had a reverse camera before) but the camera itself is extremely easy to install, has great night time illumination and a great picture. Never have to worry about not seeing something run behind me when backing up, and makes coupling horse trailers extremely easy. Just a great camera at a good price point. ... show more

Camera, quality is really clear in the daytime but just a little grainy at night. It's perfect for my really big 2010 Toyota Tundra double cab and the RCA was long enough to come fome my stereo to under my 2010 Toyota Tundra double cab all the way back to the license plate camera. Night time lights are white seem to give off plenty of light. I noticed in the rain water will get on the lense and I thought the camera was shot on the second day it definitely distorted the picture but upon wiping the rain off the lense camera was fine. Very happy with purchase. I hooks up the black and red wires to my reverse lights and made sure to attach the red wire from the yellow RCA cable to the same power wire going to my reverse lights it serves as the remote cable at the other end of the yellow RCA when it gets to your stereo you connect the yellow RCA to camera in on the back of the stereo and attach that red wire to the reverse wire on back of the stereo so the screen turns on when you put it in reverse.. One thing that made it easier is to run the yellow RCA with red wire attached from your stereo first down to the floor board out through rubber grommet under passenger seat. cover wire with plastic heat shield once under the vehicle to protect from heat and any debris. Pictures show how I put both power wires together for camera power and remotely have the stereo automatically go into reverse ... show more

So here is a hint for everyone that purchases this product. When you install it, and it is very easy to install, don't get alarmed if the screen says "No signal" or it appears the camera is not working. On the connection there are two looped wires, one white and one green. If the camera doesn't work after you install it, just cut the white wire...just clip it in half. After that the camera will work great. I have a Boss aftermarket head-unit in my truck and I got the "No Signal" message also. After I cut that wire, everything was great ... show more

Sure this product is an Amazon best seller, seems like any other cheap china product. Took a while to have it professionally installed but it didn't work. Had to order a new one from the installation shop and there was a 7-dollar restocking fee as well for a BROKEN product. I don't recommend buying this China drop ship product, doesn't work, waste of time, has poor support, and amazing restocking fee for a broken product. Better off buying in bulk yourself from Temu or Alibaba for a fraction of the cost. Amazon product is not what they use to be..... ... show more

EDIT: So I am dumb, there is a green wire loop (easily accessed) that you cut to get rid of the guide lines built in to the camera. With that I can use the adjustable lines in my head unit which is quite helpful. 5 stars for this product. ORIGINAL: I have had this installed in my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis for about 2 years now (plugged into an aftermarket Boss BE7ACP head unit) and it works great. The only reason for the 3 star review is the camera puts in the stupid guide lines for your car which might be useful for smaller cars but mine is so wide they are not accurate and they are not adjustable. My head unit allows for adding some on top of the picture and adjusting them to your car but with these in the background it looks awful. Overall though the camera portion does work so if you don’t mind inaccurate non adjustable guide lines for backing up it would be a good purchase. ... show more

Overall, this is a decent camera, however, the installation instructions and wiring diagram that came with the product did not match what was in the box. It wasn't too far off, but slowed the install process. Also, the camera lens should be hydrophobic and it's not. If it's raining in any capacity, a large water drop tends to stay on it blurring and distorting the image significantly. My older crummier backup cam didn't have this issue. Lastly, while the infrared lighting for the backup camera is plenty bright where I can see clearly even in pitch black overcast conditions in the countryside, if there's even the slightest coating of dust on the lens, it's so brightly illuminated that it washes out the entire image making visibility near zero. This unit would benefit from a small lens hood so the infrared light doesn't directly hit the lens. This same unit with correct installation instructions, a hydrophobic lens, and a lens hood, even at a higher price, would absolutely be a 5-star product. Until then, it's decent if you need something on the cheap, but not nearly good enough if you are on the road more than a few hours a week. ... show more
