I got this tool and anchors for my ice hut when I go ice fishing. It seems that I lose at least one anchor on each outing... The tool itself is wonderful! It almost deserves 5 stars by itself. It is cleverly designed to fit over a variety of ice anchor sizes (both thickness and length) holding them while you drill them into the ice. A small variety of anchor sizes is shown in the photo. This tool is so much easier than screwing them by hand. The tool itself doesn’t fit in my ¼” drive drill, but it includes an adapter for it. This does make the process a little more wobbly, but it is still better than the hard way. The anchors themselves, on the other hand, leave a little to be desired. The descriptions do indicate that they are 6.5” long, but it is not clear that this is actually on the short side and that they are rather skinny. This might not matter for some, but where I ice fish, there is often a foot or more of crusty snow on the lake. It is not uncommon to anchor in that snow. For this you need a thicker and longer anchor, like the larger one shown in the photo. I have not drilled these anchors into glare ice, but think the flattened threads would not drill or hold as well. For this I would give the anchors only 3 or 4 stars. The description title mentions nylon straps to hold to the tent. I cannot find them. I do not know if I just misplaced them, or if they were just missing, or if the title was incorrect/out-of-date. I think they may be are supposed to be included in a different purchase option and the title should fixed. In my case, the tent walls have the straps attached, so this is a non-issue. All in all, I think the tool and adapter is worth the price. Just not perfect. Edit: I forgot to attach the photos.

Confession, i got these as anchors for a tarp and there is no ice to be seen. Our bunny enclosure has a tarp to help keep some of the winter weather out, but it turns into a giant parasail when the wind picks up. Got these anchors to make sure the tarp stays down and I like that these anchors came with a tool to put them into the ground without a hammer (coil works better in this soil anyway). Anchors were easy to get into the ground and they have stays in place during the latest wind storm. Really easy to use and stay in place.

A great kit. The ice anchors are made well and very strong. The kit includes a chuck to drove them into the ice with and standard drill and has an adapter if you want to use a 1/4" impact. I do wish it came with a nice bag to keep it all in instead of sliding around in my ice fishing sled. I'll come up with something for that easily though. Great price

We don't yet have safe ice for ice fishing, and we have had nearly record breaking warm weather the past two weeks. I have not tested these on a lake, but I have tested them in a frozen, one gallon bucket of ice. This is the second set of ice anchors I have ordered. I gave the first set a one star review because I found it impossible to screw them into a frozen bucket of ice. That set did not have an adapter for a drill, so I only attempted to screw them into the ice bucket by hand. However, the screws on that set were about twice as thick as this set. I deducted one star on this set, since these ice anchors are not as thick as most of the other ones I have seen. What I discovered with this set, is that if I pre-drill a hole in the ice, it was fairly easy to screw in the ice anchors by hand. A cordless drill made it easy to screw these into the frozen bucket of ice, but I don't want to take my cordless drill ice fishing. I'll plan to use an old fashioned brace bit to make a hole, and then either use the adapter from this kit on the brace bit to screw in the anchors., or just screw them in by hand. The adapter from this kit worked on both the thinner and thicker ice anchors. You can use the adapter with a 1/2 inch drill, and there is also an attachment allowing one to use it with a 1/4 inch drill. It took a little bit of practice for me in the one gallon bucket, and I'm glad I did that before trying this out for the first time on a frozen lake when the wind is howling.

I absolutely love this ice anchor drill kit. It makes setting up my ice house a breeze, even on windy days. With just one anchor, I can get the job done quickly and easily, and I don't think I'll ever go back to doing it by hand. The kit comes with everything I need, including a quick disconnect and four well-built ice anchors that work with the anchor adapter, which is compatible with all of my current ice anchors. It's a universal tool that I can use every time I go onto the ice, and I highly recommend it to anyone who goes ice fishing regularly.

The anchors work well, the install bit comes with an 11mm socket to go into a 1/4" impact that then has to drive the anchor install tool. Otherwise the tool could just be put into a drill
