We tested it out with camping to see how it would work out and it went well. The shelf that holds twigs or kindling can be adjusted one or two notches. It folds up nicely and has its own bag for storage. I know with backpacking you have to focus on your weight and this would be a bit heafty considering there are smaller options. ... show more

    • Piece of crap! Less than a 1/4 star.
The grate is too far from the fire unless you build a large one and keep it big. That defeats the whole purpose of a backpacking stove. Once the fire starts you have no adjustment at all. it's pretty heavy as well almost two pounds. I would suggest finding two rocks to support your skillet as I have always done in the past. I don't know what I was thinking with this purchase. It is a piece of crap. Maybe I can use it as an anchor or fish trap? ... show more

    • You get what you pay for?
A lot smaller than it looks. Try putting a frying pan like the one in the picture and it might tip over. You will need way smaller kindling if you want to fit any to cook with. Probably best if you use sterno cans. It is easy to put together. I suppose you get what you pay for, which isn’t much.

This small stove is perfect for my get out backpack and is an addition to my other camping gear. Small and lightweight also very durable. Definitely a great purchase and very affordable.
