I read reviews and looked at all the various "vertebrae" on Amazon designed for concealing cables running from the floor to the desk. Even though this one was a little more expensive than many of its competitors, I thought it was the best in terms of function for my sit-stand desk situation. It is specifically designed to be installed behind one of the metal legs and it has magnetic fittings at top and bottom to secure it. It also comes with two magnetic inserts to secure the chain along the vertical leg. They could have provided a couple more of those but if I need a more positive connection, I would use some double sided tape in a few spots. The plastic is very substantial and the links easily accommodate the insertion of numerous cables. You will see in my pics that the curve of the chain isn't all that smooth but it doesn't matter b/c once my desk is pushed back closer to the wall, the chain is pretty much invisible. Although it is described as black in color, it is closer to a dark charcoal gray. Overall, I am very happy with this and would purchase again.

This cable manager is designed well. It looks really clean installed right up against the leg of the table, and works with 2-post and 4-post tables. Install is a little bit wonky, you will want a long screw driver bit for your drill as the screws are pretty close to the edges of the plastic hinge frames so the chuck of the drill will get in the way and cause the screws to sit on a small angle. It comes with magnetic and screws for mounting, so you can use screws up under the wood table top and magnets on the feet and legs. There are a couple magnets included for the length of the guide up the leg as well, so it does have a fairly stable hold. The cable guide is plenty large enough to hold a bunch of cables, or heavier gauge power cables. Be sure not to bundle the cables inside the guide, as they will need to move freely as the guide changes positions. Changing the length of the guide to fit your table height is also very easy, just squeeze the hinges and they pop out. It comes with enough segments to fit tables up to about 5' tall or so. I would really like to see a segmented divider inside the guide channel to allow for power and low-voltage cables to be separated. Overall this is a good cable guide. I would like to see a little bit stronger mounting to the table leg for use with heavier or more quantity of cables, but for most uses, mounting is sufficient.

If you have a PC on the floor and a sit/stand desk, you probably encountered with the cables mess, and the possible scenario that cables could even tear apart when raising the desk, not because they weren't long enough but because they got stuck somewhere on the way. With this cable management product you can say goodbye to these problems. Before installing anything, make sure to raise your desk to maximum height first. Installation was a breeze. Each end has both built-in magnets and holes for screwing down. The bottom part gets magnetized to the leg of the desk, and you can either attach the top part with screws or to use the provided double sided tape and magnet. I personally used screws (2 are provided) as I have quite a lot of cables which can get heavy on the double sided tape. You also get 2 additional magnets that you can put anywhere you want between the vertebral pieces from the inside; you'd use them for the lower part of the chain that doesn't move for better securing it to the leg of the table. Inserting the cables into the channel was a breeze, and the wings that hold them in are quite firm and seem quite durable; I had to use some force to pushing them in and out when I needed to take some cables out to re-organize them. The channel can get quite crowded if you have a lot of cables, though. Especially if you run through it power cables which are much thicker than the rest - I run through it about 4 power cables along with the rest, so it eventually turned out quite dense to adjust them or to add more. But once you're happy the setup is done, and you can enjoy raising and lowering your desk without worrying about cables getting stuck or snapped anymore. I do recommend to plan this first and to order long cables based on your peripheral needs for your setup. I found myself with a 2 meter DP cable which wasn't long enough to go all the way down the chain from the monitor at the center of my 140cm desk, so I'd need to order now a 2.5/3 meters DP cable separately. All in all, this is a must have product and I can't believe I didn't order it sooner. I originally tried under-the-desk cable management baskets, but when I got this item I no longer needed them and took them apart. Plus, this item makes everything look much cleaner.
