I had and used an Umidigi device (the Umidigi Power) for some time back in 2020, and I have always admired their dedication to creating powerful devices on a budget. To begin, the box that this device came in was a beautiful, sleek black box with a fantastic print of the tablet on the front. The box has all of the specifications on the back, and plenty more information. The unboxing experience was delightful, packed extremely well, neatly and securely. While unpacking the box, there was the instruction leaflet, the tablet, the charger and the cable, all of which were the high quality I have come to know Umidigi by. Taking out the tablet, it was a very hefty and rugged device, as which it of course is sold as. The case was a tough plastic case with a place for the included passive stylus in the side. The buttons were nice and responsive, the case was durable and rugged and the tablet looked amazing. On the tablet was a screen protector which was underneath the factory stock one, although only a plastic screen protector, it was still a nice inclusion. Turning the device on, it gives a very satisfying and strong vibration, along with the wonderful starting animation Umidigi designed into the firmware. The setup was quick and painless, taking about 5 minutes total to complete. Using the device, immediately I could tell that the device was a well tuned and built tablet, unlike some I have used in the past at the same price point. The attention to detail on making a rugged, affordable tablet is a greatly appreciated thing among many. The screen protector left a bit to be desired as it felt a little bit too resistive to touch for me, however, removing it was not a problem and it merely peeled away without resistance. As I was getting into using the device, I noticed a few things. The screen looked great, the colors were clear, the pixel density was nice and there was no artifacting as far as I could tell. The brightness of the tablet was also very good, managing to be bright enough to be seen well even in direct light. The settings for the display do seem to be rather basic, appearing to be a stock android array of settings, however, the extra dim mode was surely my favorite feature. One of the videos I use to test the clarity and vibrance of a screen is a 4K video of Costa Rica, and to say it passed would be an understatement. It performed well without stutter, vibrant colors and a clear, smooth HDR experience. Looking into the settings of the device, you have the standard array of android settings to choose from. One setting quite unique to this device is the ability to set the hotkey button. The hotkey button is an added button on the tablet itself that allows you to set different apps or features to it, granting easy access to 3 different choices by single press, double press or hold. The button is responsive, just like the others on the device, although the case does make pressing the buttons a bit more difficult. The specifications of the device are fairly standard for a budget device, however still offer an amazing amount of performance. Sporting an 8 core cpu with a 4G modem and an integrated gpu offers a great mix of performance and efficiency. A way that I test these specifications is by using two apps; Geekbench for running a benchmark of the cpu/gpu and Device Info HW to check through all of the device information, as well as run various tests on the device. The specifications were as promised, sporting the T616 processor and an 11” 2K screen, along with quad speakers and a 10000 mAh battery capacity. It has a 10-point touch capability, allowing use of all 10 fingers at once, of which I enjoy when using it to play piano. The speaker tests I ran passed with flying colors as well, being a nice, vibrant sound that made use of the quad speakers for a nice stereo experience. The screen test also did well, showing a vibrant array of the colors it ran through, without washing them out or lacking brightness. I primarily used this device for music and videos, having them running almost constantly throughout this review. The battery lasted anywhere from 12-26 hours, depending on the brightness, load and whether I was watching videos or listening to music. From empty to full, the tablet took about two and a half hours to charge, using the full 20W capability of the included charger and cable. In conclusion, the Umidigi Active T1 is an amazing tablet, full of great features, wonderful user friendliness and a budget in mind. I do highly recommend this device for those that want the robust, rugged and long lasting experience offered. For the price, you would be hard pressed to find an alternative.

I ordered this tablet and it was delivered very fast (2 days). I needed a reliable tablet for traveling to avoid having to drag my laptop everytime and this tablet did not disappoint. It runs on Android 13 (not the newest Android 14), but I can't complain because many tablets out there have lower versions than this at this price point. It has a 11" screen and seems to be of great quality. It comes with a screen protector and durable case pre-installed. What is really useful is the fact it comes with a SIM Card slot, stylus pen, WiFi-5 and Bluetooth 5.0. These features are very nice for a tablet at this cost. It is practically a giant phone if you use the SIM Card for cell service. It has a waterproof rating of IP68 but I didn't actually test that. I will wait till an incident naturally occurs to get it wet. The system seems to smoothly scroll through pages as you swipe and has a decent amount of storage (128GB). The storage is expandable up to 1TB. The battery lasted all day and then some with a lot of use. It also can be charged with the include Type-C charger. Tip- Here is what I did to utilize the SIM Card feature. Textnow offers a SIM card for $.99 which provides you with a phone number in your preferred area code and gives you unlimited free calls and texts in the US, Canada and most of Mexico. Data will cost extra if you don't want to use available WiFi. Overall I am very pleased with this tablet and the price is amazing for everything you get.

TLDR: If you know what you’re getting yourself into and what you’re looking for, this is an excellent tablet with incredible battery life. A tablet can do many things, like a smartphone, which can make reviewing a device like this difficult. What you use the tablet for, I may not ever do with mine. Watching movies and media, listening to music, reading ebooks, browsing the web, online shopping, scrolling social media — the list is long and varied. The Umidigi Active T1 can do all of these things with ease. You won’t be using it to play graphically intensive games — for a mobile device anyway — like Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail. But you could certainly play some casual games, solve some puzzles, and maybe leave Raid battles going with most of the settings on low. So, if your primary aim is to play games, don’t get this tablet. If it’s just an extra activity you’d be interested in, you should be fine. However, if you’re looking for a reliable device to take with you on your travels, with unmatched battery life, this is a fantastic choice. It’s essentially water and weather-resistant and comes bundled with a rugged case, as well as a screen protector already installed. It also comes with a passively capacitive stylus, one of the ones with a soft tip. The high-resolution display looks wonderful, and the speakers are quite good for an affordable tablet. The 10,000mAh battery should last for almost a full day unless you’re doing a ton of multitasking or watching media with the screen on nonstop. In standby, I’d be surprised if it didn’t last you over a week — the battery is beefy. Even so, it supports 20-watt fast charging and takes about an hour and a half, usually less, to charge to full. The storage capacity is much larger than most you’ll find, offering a ton of room for files, photos, apps, and more, and that’s before you even plug in a MicroSD card. The 8GB of RAM isn’t special, but it’s better than 4GB and certainly works for multitasking. It’s running Android 13 with almost no bloat which is very surprising for a tablet like this but I’ll take it! The WiFi works great and is suitably strong, supporting both 2.4G and 5G networks. I know one thing, this tablet is going to come in very handy on vacations, long road trips, and time out of the house. My kids will be able to use the tablet to watch their movies and shows and I don’t have to worry about staying near an outlet or carrying a portable power pack with me. It’s a win-win.
